We work with clients in four closely interdependent markets: central Government, including departments, agencies, and strategic, commercial suppliers; health and care, including national bodies, trusts, place-based partners, and commercial and digital suppliers; education, including national bodies, awarding organisations, and front-line institutions; and, the FTSE - principally leveraging our expertise in AI and associated capability building. Through A W orks   we collaborate with thought leaders, innovators, and AI-specialist   devs   to build products which tackle the biggest problems we see in the markets we support – setting aside the consulting commercial model to work in whatever ways best solve the problem. For example, through Project   Shybird , we’re building an AI-powered platform and apps which reimagine the learning value chain: conducting epic capability research, supporting rapid high-quality qualification and programme definition, enabling course design and content creation, personalisation of learning experiences – and new levels of insight for the future. The role We’re looking for an  experienced,  disciplined, and technically robust AI product manager  to  support the idea tion,  definition, build, and  considered iteration  of the products we create through A  Works  - working with clients, colleagues, and development teams to turn the hardest problems in the markets we serve into products which deliver exponential impact. This will principally include  product  ownership of the suite of solutions we are building through Project  Shybird  – a pioneering, progressive, piece of work to reinvent the learning value chain with AI,  including how markets explore their capability requirements, define qualifications and learning programmes, design courses and create content, support personalised learning experiences, capture and act on deep insights from those experiences. The  successful candidate will  have substantial product management experience, gleaned through in-house and / or consulting roles .   You will have a strong technical skillset, enabling you to work with colleagues to ideate and define detailed technical requirements; oversee dev teams; and manage acceptance testing processes  with business requirements owners. The  role spans the full product lifecycle, including: Conducting market, competitor, and innovation research to inform consideration of where we should / should not invest in product development;  what we can learn from others; what we can draw on – and who we can draw in; and, how we can differentiate our solutions. Work ing  with colleagues  / clients  to  define clearly  the problem to be solved  with a given solution,  including the customer pain points, dependencies, scoping boundaries, and success measures .    Establish ing  a deep,  substantial , and nuanced, understanding of user needs, workflows, and behaviours through a combination of research, interviews, and business analysis. Support ing  colleagues and subject matter experts to define detailed business requirements  and   t ranslat ing those  business requirements into build-ready functional and non-functional technical requirements which can be used to commission and manage development work. Providing colleagues with sound,  evidenced , commercially astute advice on development costs and other considerations including e.g. the relative cost, customer impact, and therefore incremental return on investment of requirements decisions. Interfacing with  and   manage the work of  on and offshore  dev teams through the requirements, build, test,  operate , and improve phases  of the product lifecycle  –   including e.g. ownership of requirements backlog, acceptance testing, and roadmap documentation / processes. Lead ing  product testing, piloting, and validation activities – including user acceptance testing and exploration of further opportunities for innovation and impact  to inform both client configuration and product roadmap considerations. Supporting colleagues leading client implementation /   adoption activities, including engagement with client -side  business users and technical teams to  ensure  timely  and effective  solution  configuration  –   and management of our dev team  to deliver on the same . Monitor product performance and benefits realisation, both with individual clients and at the aggregate level;  identify  and address issues;  identify  and propose improvements  as part of substantial  roadmap and investment decisions. Person   specification Demonstrable digital / AI product management  expertise . Ideally  formal training / accreditation in digital product management. Ability to  facilitate  discussions from ideation through to detailed requirements. Strong communication  and presentation skills, internally and externally, at all  levels. Enjoyment working in an entrepreneurial, commercial, high-performance environment. High levels  of precision and presentational pride across all your work Working location At least   two   days per week in the firm’s Farringdon office. Package Basic salary   of £ 55-75k   depending   on   expertise . Up to 20% bonus based on firm and individual performance. 27 days’ annual leave   rising to 30 based on performance. Private medical and dental insurance. 4% pension contributions.
