OceanX Education is seeking an AI Immersive Technologist to lead the design and development of AI-powered immersive experiences that transform how global audiences engage with the ocean. The role focuses on building scalable systems that integrate generative AI, real-time 3D technologies and interactive storytelling to deliver dynamic, exploration-driven learning experiences. Working across the Science, Media, Education and Technology teams, this individual will drive end-to-end development from concept through deployment, establishing production pipelines, managing external partners and ensuring technical excellence.
Duties include defining and evolving OceanX’s approach to AI-driven immersive education and storytelling; designing immersive experiences that make ocean science more accessible and exploration-driven; leading technical development while remaining hands-on in coding, prototyping and system design; owning the end-to-end development of immersive experiences; designing and implementing scalable pipelines combining AI tools and real-time 3D engines such as Unity, Unreal and WebXR; integrating multi-modal generative AI ecosystems such as Gemini, Claude and ComfyUI; translating real-world ocean and scientific data into interactive, explorable systems and simulations; directing external studios, developers and creative partners; and mentoring team members, fellows and collaborators.
Qualifications include a bachelor’s degree in computer science, interactive media, game development, creative technology or a related field; at least seven years of experience developing interactive, immersive or spatial digital experiences; strong hands-on experience with Unreal Engine and TouchDesigner; demonstrated experience building and shipping interactive media systems and immersive environments; at least one year of hands-on experience using generative AI tools within production workflows; experience building or integrating AI pipelines through APIs, SDKs and automation; and proficiency in creative coding. Experience in education technology, simulation or data-driven storytelling and familiarity with scientific datasets are a plus.
Compensation includes a competitive salary and a benefits package with an employer-paid medical plan and CPF. Immigration sponsorship is not provided.
