Description
Toon2Tango is a kids and family entertainment powerhouse specializing in IP creation, development, financing, production, distribution and brand building. The company is positioned as a worldwide operation working across all types of children’s and family entertainment IPs with a strong focus on animated content. Toon2Tango also actively engages in co-financing and acquisition of quality programming with a strong international appeal. Since its foundation in September 2019, Toon2Tango has been involved in the production of a total of five TV series - AGENT 203, MONSTER LOVING MANIACS, GRISU, HEY FUZZY YELLOW and SHOWTIME as well as the feature film MISSION SANTA: YOYO TO THE RESCUE. Toon2Tango is a LEONINE Animation Studios company and part of the Mediawan Group. We are looking for an AI Animation Artist (m/f/d)   The position is permanent and full-time. You will help build and run hybrid animation pipelines that keep the best of traditional craft and add AI where it truly accelerates production — not as a gimmick, but as a directed, repeatable workflow. Together with writers, directors, designers, and editors at Toon2Tango, you will turn creative intent into moving images: consistent characters and worlds, story-driven performances, and broadcast-ready sequences. You will work primarily on animated series and formats at Toon2Tango — from design and pre-production through to finished shots — while sharing tools, workflows, and know-how with our broader AI team at LEONINE & Mediawan. Typical work spans the full animation arc: Story & pre-production — Support or create boards, shotlists, and animatics; structure work for an animated (not live-action) rhythm: exaggeration, clarity, and readable acting. Design consistency — Develop and maintain character, location, and style references so AI output stays on-model across shots and episodes. Production  — Block scenes for spatial and directorial control (e.g. layout in 3D or structured reference), generate and refine image/video with AI tools, and composite into coherent sequences. Performance & dialogue — Work with human voice performances; tackle lip-sync and facial acting, including non-realistic and non-human characters where needed. Finish & delivery — Composite, grade, and polish shots for integration into editorial; document workflows so the team can repeat and improve them. Pipeline & efficiency — Experiment with and adopt tools (open-source, SaaS, or small custom helpers) that reduce clicks and raise quality; share learnings with the wider AI unit. We believe the strongest AI animation keeps humans in the loop for what matters most: design, writing, performance, and editorial judgment — while using AI for speed, variation, and production scale.   As part of a forward-thinking team within the Mediawan Group, you will help define how animated content can be made faster and better without losing soul.   Experience our deeply efficient, open mindset — we question everything every day and make it better! Must-have You can work on-site at our Munich office on a regular basis (several days per week) - while some home office flexibility exists, consistent office presence is essential. Professional animation background — You have trained or worked in animation (3D, boards, layout, design, modeling, compositing, or similar). You know how animated storytelling works — timing, exaggeration, readable poses — and you can tell when a shot feels animated, not just realistic. AI-assisted production in practice — You already use AI for image and video on real work, from straight forward platforms (e.g. Magnific, Runway, Kling) through to more involved setups if that’s your level. You can iterate under direction, keep characters and shots consistent, and deliver usable results. Which tools you use matters less than what you’ve actually shipped. Nice to have 3D b
