Liquid Personnel is recruiting for its client, an experienced Advanced Practitioner, to join the Emergency Duty Team (EDT) in Walsall. This is a fast-paced, out-of-hours role where you will respond to urgent referrals and support vulnerable individuals across both Children’s and Adult Social Care services. You will play a key role in safeguarding, crisis intervention, and risk management, making critical decisions in complex situations to ensure the safety and wellbeing of children, young people, and vulnerable adults. What will your responsibilities be? Acting as an EDT duty worker, responding to referrals outside of normal working hours Working with vulnerable individuals across all age ranges within both Children’s and Adult Services Responding to crisis situations and delivering timely and effective interventions Undertaking risk assessments to safeguard children, young people and vulnerable adults Completing accurate, timely and high-quality case recordings Making sound professional judgements in complex and high-pressure situations Working collaboratively with multi-agency partners to reduce risk and ensure safeguarding Applying relevant legislation and policy frameworks in all areas of practice Maintaining high standards of documentation and case management Supporting service improvement and contributing to best practice within the team Benefits: The role requires flexibility to work evenings, overnight shifts, weekends and bank holidays Candidates with a strong background in Child Protection are particularly encouraged to apply Training can be provided to support transition into Adult Social Care where required Qualifications & Experience: To be successful in this role you must have,  MA, BA or BSc in Social Work, Diploma in Social Work, or CQSW Registration: • Must be registered with Social Work England Experience: • Minimum of 2+ years’ post-qualified experience (ASYE completed) • Strong experience within Child Protection and/or Adult Safeguarding • Experience of working within crisis or emergency social work settings is highly desirable • Proven ability to manage complex cases and make informed decisions under pressure • Experience in risk assessment, safeguarding and multi-agency working • Ability to work across both Children’s and Adult Services (training can be provided if required) • Evidence of ongoing professional development Legislation Knowledge: Strong working knowledge of: • Children Act 1989 • Care Act 2014 • Mental Capacity Act 2005 (MCA) • Safeguarding Children and Adults frameworks and procedures Skills • Excellent safeguarding knowledge and advanced practice skills • Strong assessment and analytical abilities • Ability to make sound decisions in complex and high-pressure environments • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills • Ability to build positive working relationships with service users and professionals • Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise competing demands • High standard of written work and case recording • Resilient, proactive and able to work independently in an out-of-hours setting • Commitment to strengths-based and person-centred practice Why Liquid Personnel?  Free DBS and compliance service Twice weekly payroll and ‘Faster Pay’ service, getting you paid more quickly Access to exclusive roles that aren’t available from other agencies Free access to Liquid’s exclusive social work training and CPD portal Your own dedicated consultant with extensive social work knowledge Access to a wide selection of social work positions across the UK “Refer a Friend” bonus – get £500 for each social worker you refer who we successfully place* “Find your own job” bonus – get £250 for bringing your own position to us * Liquid Personnel is an equal opportunities employer.
