🩺 We're Hiring – Adults AMHP Social Worker 📍 Location: Halton Council 🔖 Reference – SCS688 🕒 Job Type: Locum – Full Time 💼 Start Date: ASAP 💰 Rate/Salary: £45.00 per hour About the Role: We are seeking an experienced Advanced Social Worker – Approved Mental Health Professional (AMHP) to join Halton Council’s dedicated and supportive mental health team. This role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of adults with complex mental health needs, while working within a professional environment committed to excellence in care and statutory compliance. Key Responsibilities: • Conduct Mental Health Act assessments and make informed decisions regarding detention or alternative care pathways • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including healthcare professionals, emergency services, and community support networks • Offer specialist advice and support to colleagues on mental health legislation and procedures • Ensure full compliance with the Mental Health Act 1983 (amended 2007), Care Act 2014, and the Mental Capacity Act 2005 • Manage complex caseloads, ensuring individuals and their families receive appropriate interventions and care • Maintain accurate and timely case notes and reports in line with statutory and local authority requirements • Contribute to the ongoing development of service policies and best practices Requirements: • Qualified Social Worker with current Social Work England registration • Recognised AMHP qualification (Approved Mental Health Professional) • Substantial experience conducting Mental Health Act assessments • In-depth knowledge of relevant mental health legislation and guidance • Strong decision-making skills under pressure and in high-risk situations • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment • Enhanced DBS Certificate (must be on the Update Service) Why Join Us? • Competitive hourly rate of £45.00 • Supportive and professional multidisciplinary team environment • Opportunity to make a lasting impact on adults with complex mental health needs 🎁 Referral Bonus Available!
