The Department of Engineering of the University of Nicosia invites applications for part time faculty positions in the field of Oil and Gas Engineering. We are seeking candidates with expertise in one or more of the following areas: • Petroleum geology . • Formation evaluation . • Geophysics . • Off-shore engineering . • Production engineering . • Hydrocarbon recovery techniques . The positions are for the Fall 2026 semester and may be renewed upon satisfactory performance. Qualifications: Candidates should have a doctoral degree in Oil and Gas Engineering, Petroleum Engineering, or a closely related discipline. A strong publication record is not a requirement but will be considered as a benefit. The candidate must demonstrate a commitment to teaching and research excellence. Since the language of instruction is English, the candidate must be fluent in English. Specific requirements include: • A PhD in Oil and Gas Engineering, Geosciences, or a closely related field. • Evidence of effective teaching in English. • Autonomy in developing and organizing material to support student learning. Job description: Responsibilities include teaching undergraduate and graduate courses with or without laboratory sessions. Faculty are expected to contribute to the academic environment through curriculum development. Some administrative work might be required. Benefits: Salary depends on qualifications and experience. Department and programme: The Department of Engineering at the University of Nicosia offers degrees across major engineering disciplines, including a 4-year BSc programme in Oil and Gas Engineering, a 1.5 year MSc Programme in Oil, Gas and Energy Engineering and a 3-year (minimum) Ph.D in Oil, Gas and Energy Engineering. The Department is supported by internationally experienced faculty and fully equipped with high tech Computational laboratories that promote hands on training and skills. Students benefit from small class sizes (fewer than 25 students), active research in areas such as energy transition, reservoir simulation, and sustainable exploration and production, and close ties with industry that create internship and collaboration opportunities.
