At BMS, we’ve been engaged to recruit an Account Director for a growing political intelligence software business. This is a strategic commercial role focused on managing and growing a portfolio of high-value clients, while helping shape the future of a business that’s challenging long-established competitors through AI-driven innovation.
The Company
Our client is a specialist political intelligence platform helping organisations stay ahead of government policy, parliamentary activity, and stakeholder engagement.
Using AI-powered monitoring, stakeholder mapping, parliamentary transcripts, and contact intelligence, the platform enables public affairs professionals to access critical political insight faster than traditional providers. Since launching in 2017, the business has built an impressive client base across banking, pharmaceuticals, retail, media, and public affairs consultancies, while maintaining exceptional customer retention.
With ambitious growth plans, a leadership team drawn from government and public affairs, and a clear vision to expand market share, this is an exciting opportunity to join a business entering its next stage of growth.
The Role
• Manage a portfolio of approximately 150 existing customer accounts.
• Focus on renewals, account growth, and securing multi-year commercial agreements.
• Sell AI-powered political intelligence, stakeholder mapping, and monitoring solutions.
• Build relationships with Public Affairs professionals and senior communications leaders.
• Manage an account portfolio worth approximately £1.6m, with a target to grow revenues by £100k annually.
• Typical contract values range from under £10K to £70K, with renewal cycles of 1-3 months.
• Report directly into the Founder and Senior Leadership Team, with the opportunity to progress into a leadership role within 3-6 months.
The Candidate
• 5+ years’ experience in commercial account management or strategic client success.
• 10+ years’ experience working within public affairs, political intelligence, government relations, or a public affairs consultancy.
• Commercially astute with a consultative approach to account growth and renewals.
