Account Director - 12m FTC Location: London, United Kingdom Contract Type: 12 Month Fixed Term Contract About the role: As Account Director, you'll own the client relationship and the delivery engine. Working across brand campaigns, always-on digital content, thought leadership and, event and marketing collateral, you'll be accountable for account health, project governance, stakeholder alignment, and commercial performance. This is a hands-on senior role that demands both strategic thinking and operational discipline. You'll shape the partnership at a senior level while managing briefs, pipelines, compliance and brand workflows, and budgets with rigour and confidence. What you will be doing: Client Partnership & Account Leadership • Own the senior client relationship as primary point of contact for the client's marketing and communications team • Translate business priorities into clear studio direction and creative briefs • Chair status meetings, monthly business reviews, and strategic planning sessions, keeping the studio positioned as a high-value partner • Manage client expectations through competing priorities and regulated timelines, without compromising relationships or output quality • Proactively identify opportunities to grow the scope of the partnership Project Management & Delivery • Lead end-to-end delivery across the full creative portfolio, from brief intake through production, approvals, and final output, across digital, social, print, events, and long-form content • Maintain full pipeline visibility, managing SLA frameworks, capacity risks, and project status across all in-flight work • Act as the consolidation point for all client feedback before it reaches the creative team • Build proactive project roadmaps in partnership with creative leads, supporting monthly planning and forecasting cadences Compliance & Governance • Manage compliance, brand and legal sign-off processes, ensuring all projects requiring regulatory review are flagged, tracked, and closed out with clear audit trails Commercial Accountability • Own account-level budget management: forecasting, purchase orders, spend tracking, and monthly financial reporting • Source and coordinate external resources to match delivery capacity with project demand • Flag commercial risks early and identify opportunities to grow account revenue Gen AI & Agentic Thinking • Integrate AI tools into project management and account workflows to improve planning efficiency, brief analysis, and status reporting • Apply agentic thinking to complex, multi-stakeholder delivery challenges, breaking competing priorities into clear plans and finding efficient paths through ambiguity What you need to be great in this role: • Experience in a senior account management role within a creative agency, in-house studio, or content production environment, working directly with marketing leadership • Confidence managing multiple stakeholders with competing priorities, including the ability to challenge, educate, and hold senior stakeholders accountable constructively • Familiarity with regulated industries, financial services, insurance, or similar, including compliance workflows, legal approval chains, and audit requirements • Fluency in managing high-volume, multi-channel creative portfolios with tight deadlines and competing briefs • Hands-on experience with SLA frameworks, tiered briefing processes, and feedback management protocols • Experience coordinating external delivery partners, media, transcreation, and production suppliers, alongside internal creative teams • Experience owning account-level budgets: purchase orders, spend reconciliation, and financial reporting to senior stakeholders • Confidence identifying and communicating commercial risks early • Working knowledge of AI tools that support planning, reporting, or brief analysis in a project management context • A structured, adaptable approach to complex problem-solving, able to break multi-stakeholder challenges into clear steps and maintain focus when priorities shift • Formal degrees are welcome but not required.
