What does an Account Director do at WPP Production?
The Account Director is the day-to-day client contact for their accounts, and projects. They are responsible for building and maintaining trusted relationships while ensuring the seamless delivery of world-class production work. This role requires a hybrid of account leadership and production management—someone who understands production end-to-end, from shoot to final delivery, and can operate with both a client-first mindset and a producer's instinct. They sit at the intersection of client strategy and internal execution, translating business objectives into production solutions, driving organic growth, and serving as the connective tissue between clients, agency partners, and internal teams.
Key Responsibilities
Serve as a trusted advisor to clients on production strategy and execution, ensuring all outputs are aligned with brand guidelines, creative direction, quality standards and efficient execution
Lead alignment between clients and agency partners on production briefs, deliverables, timelines, budgets, and handoffs to project teams
Maintain a deep understanding of WPP Production's capabilities and how to apply them
Oversee primary productions from brief through to delivery, with a hands-on understanding of shoots and production workflows start to finish
Coordinate with global offices, serving as a steward of consistent ways of working across regions
Ensure compliance with contractual terms, commercial arrangements and SLAs
Manage account financials, including SOWs, fees, profitability, and utilization, while consistently delivering against client requirements
Collaborate cross-functionally across Operations, Finance, Production, and subject matter experts to drive cohesive, high-quality outcomes
Navigate competing priorities and escalations with clarity and confidence
Identify organic growth opportunities within existing accounts and contribute to new business
Champion the use of AI tools and emerging technology, both for day-to-day workflows and in-market content production
Contribute to a positive office culture
Requirements
4–7 years of Client Services experience, including a minimum of 3 years within a creative agency environment
Bilingual in English and Spanish is preferred, as a portion of creative is in Spanish and English
Exceptional client relationship skills with the ability to present confidently, influence multiple stakeholders, and engage effectively at the senior and executive level
Deep production fluency and a strong understanding of
