Description
vAbout the Role Texas Sports Academy is a K-12 school designed for serious student-athletes who want both elite academics and high-level athletic development. Students cover 2x the material in just 2 hours a day, using the same 2-Hour Learning model as Alpha Schools. That frees up their entire afternoon for serious training, where they work alongside former pro and D1 athletes coaching them at the highest standard. We are hiring two Academic Guides to support our student-athletes through the school day. You sit alongside a small group of students during their academic hours, hold the standard on focus and effort, and help them stay engaged and moving through their learning. You are the steady adult in their day: the person keeping them on task, catching where they are stuck, and making sure they end the day further ahead than they started. What You'll Do Guide Students Through Their Academic Day: Sit with a small group of student-athletes during their academic hours, keep them focused and on task, and help them move through their learning at pace. Support Their Learning: Help students navigate the learning platform, work through hard material, and build the study and time-management habits that carry them forward. Hold the Standard on Focus and Effort: Give direct feedback when it is needed and real praise when it is earned. Do not let students coast. Track Progress: Know where each of your students is, what they are stuck on, and what they need next. Keep clean notes and flag concerns early. Communicate With the Team: Give the academic and athletic team clear, honest updates on how students are doing so nobody is guessing. Create a Serious, Warm Learning Environment: Set the tone in the room. Keep it focused, keep it high-standards, and keep it a place students want to be.
