Description
• 2026 AWA Internship & Practicum: Work with Adolescents in a PHP/IOP Setting
Practicum & Internship Program
Adolescent Wellness Academy (AWA) offers year-round practicum and internship opportunities for graduate students seeking supervised clinical experience in adolescent mental health. Our program is designed to provide meaningful, hands-on training in a supportive, high-standards environment.
About the Program
AWA is a Partial Hospitalization (PHP) and Intensive Outpatient (IOP) treatment center serving adolescents ages 13–17 and their families. Practicum students and interns are integrated into our clinical team to observe, learn, and gradually participate in the therapeutic process under licensed supervision.
Students gain exposure to:
Individual, family, and group therapy work
Treatment team meetings and collaborative care planning
Crisis intervention approaches and safety protocols
Admissions, assessments, and documentation workflows
Evidence-based modalities used at AWA (DBT, CBT, MI, and more)
Our focus is on helping students grow their clinical confidence while upholding the AWA values: Choose Kindness, Deliver Results, Spread Optimism, and Contribute to the Whole.
