About This Role Wee Know is Nationally Accredited and 5 Star Young Star rated. We seek a compassionate, outgoing and dedicated teacher our 2.5 Jumpstart program. The classroom will be staffed with a lead, assistant and floating support teacher. Children are placed in one class room for the fall and spring semester and remain with the same teaching team for the duration. Candidate must have prior experience and hold an Associate's degree or higher. Position requires 32 + hours per week and is considered full time. Days and hours are consistent each week. The application is available on our website - weeknowschool.com What You'll Do • Interact with children on a one to one and group basis • Plan developmentally appropriate activities for student that align with WEMLS standards • Develop weekly lesson plans that include social/emotional skills, art, science, math, literacy, music/movement & outdoor activities • Create and maintain a clean, welcoming and inviting classroom • Cooperate with assistant teacher and support teacher in a team teaching setting, providing direction to co-staff as needed. • Engage children in small and large group activities as well as encouraging independence skills • Develop relationships provide comfort, encouragement and support of all children • Maintain individual portfolio for each student documenting development through anticdotal notes, art, pictures etc • Strive to meet accreditation standards on a daily basis Requirements • Associate's Degree or higher • 1 or more year's experience as a lead teacher in a school or center • Strong understanding of child development • Strong oral and written communication skills and basic computer skills, able to communicate in positive manner • Classroom management expertise • Experience in writing thorough lesson plans • WMELS training preferred but will train • Ability to utilize school resources to benefit children's development • Flexibility in working with children and staff and ability to adjust program to benefit children Nice to Have • CPR certificatiion • Experience with different age groups • Experience with team teaching • Enjoys being creative and thinking outside box • Brings a favorite skill or hobby that could benefit others Benefits • Paid Leave • Retirement Plan • Tuition Assistance • Child Care Discount • Professional Development • Flexible Schedule • Personal/Vacation Days • Holidays (for Full time staff working 32+ hours) • Retirement plan with employer contribution • Longevity Bonus • Continuing Education opportunities paid by Wee Know • 50% discount on preschool/childcare tuition • Support of TEACH scholarship program, REWARD & Credential Programs
