Job Title: 1:1 Teaching Assistant Location: Howden Salary: £92.56 - £100 per day Job Type: Full-time (Monday - Friday) Start Date: September until Christmas 2026 We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support a Year 4 pupil at a welcoming primary school in the Howden area. This is a full-time position commencing in September and continuing until Christmas 2026. This rewarding role offers the opportunity to make a positive impact on a child's educational journey while working within a supportive school environment. Key Responsibilities: • Provide tailored 1:1 support to a Year 4 pupil, helping them to access learning and achieve their full potential. • Support the delivery of engaging and age-appropriate learning activities across the primary curriculum. • Help create a nurturing, stimulating, and safe learning environment that encourages confidence, independence, and progress. • Assist with the pupil's personal, social, emotional, and educational development through targeted support and encouragement. • Work closely with the class teacher, SENCO, and other school staff to implement support strategies and contribute to the pupil's ongoing development and progress. Requirements: • Relevant Teaching Assistant or childcare qualification (e.g. Level 2 or Level 3 Supporting Teaching and Learning, or equivalent). Level 3 is desirable. • Previous experience supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN). • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a patient, caring, and adaptable approach. • A genuine passion for helping children succeed and reach their individual goals. • Good understanding of the Key Stage 2 curriculum, safeguarding procedures, and child protection practices.
