1:1 Specialist Teaching Assistant – Oldbury – May 2025 Start (Ongoing Role) Do you have a passion for supporting children with additional needs? Are you confident, compassionate and skilled at building strong, trusting relationships with learners who require 1:1 support? A welcoming and inclusive primary school in Oldbury is seeking a dedicated 1:1 Specialist Teaching Assistant to join their team from May 2025 . This is an ongoing, full-time role with the opportunity to make a lasting impact on a child’s educational journey. About the Role: As a 1:1 Specialist TA, you will be supporting a pupil with additional needs on a one-to-one basis, helping them to access learning, regulate emotions, and thrive both academically and socially. You’ll work closely with the class teacher, SENCO and external professionals to implement personalised strategies that support the pupil’s development and well-being. Key Responsibilities: • Provide 1:1 support to a designated pupil in class and during unstructured times • Implement tailored interventions and support strategies • Encourage independence and boost the pupil’s confidence and self-esteem • Monitor and record progress, reporting to teaching staff and SENCO • Foster a safe, nurturing and inclusive environment • Use positive behaviour management techniques to support engagement The Ideal Candidate Will Have: Previous experience supporting children with additional or complex needs A calm, patient and empathetic approach The ability to adapt quickly and think on your feet Strong communication and teamwork skills Experience with ASD, ADHD, SEMH or communication difficulties is highly desirable A relevant TA qualification or equivalent experience is preferred Job Details: Location: Oldbury Start Date: May 2025 Contract Type: Full-time, ongoing Working Hours: Monday to Friday, school hours Competitive daily rate (based on experience) Why Join This School? • Supportive leadership and SEN team • • Opportunities for training and professional development • A friendly, inclusive and child-centred ethos • Long-term opportunity with potential for a permanent role • • Ready to Make a Difference?
