Woolpert is hiring a  Design Project Engineer to join our dynamic  Water Team  at our  Houston, Texas  office. This position is primarily responsible for assisting with technical delivery on projects as well as the budgeting, planning, scheduling, monitoring and reporting for specific project phase(s) and/or task(s). This position is key in establishing and improving levels of team technical competence, quality and efficiency. This position will be part of a team engaging clients across the Water markets in support of client objectives in the areas of Water Resources Design, Drainage Design, Utilities Design, Site Civil Design, Data Analytics, Organizational Performance, Process Improvement, and related studies and analyses.  This position will perform other duties as assigned. We are unable to provide visa sponsorship for this position.  Applicants must already possess work authorization in the country the job is located. What You Will Do: Support various phases of our water/wastewater/stormwater/drainage design projects from communication with clients to deliverable generation. Perform technical aspects of specified deliverables and/or leads team of technical staff in creating deliverables consistent with scope, schedule and budget. Manage phases of projects, ensuring completion of work that meets quality assurance requirements. Perform field work, as needed. Analyze and interpret information, including field, H&H, and water quality data, to present to clients in a meaningful format Meet internal and/or external project deadlines.  Complying with and implementing clearly defined QA/QC measures.  Communicates issues affecting phase/task or project schedule, budget or quality and escalates unresolved issues to project manager, team leader, and/or discipline leader. What You Will Bring:  Bachelor degree (BS) in Civil or related engineering program Minimum of 5 years of relevant professional experience Must be proficient in AutoCAD Civil3D, with optional proficiency in hydraulic and hydrologic modeling software Must be willing to perform technical tasks, as assigned, as well as ensure the completion of additional tasks by other team members. Must be willing to work collaboratively with existing team, including mentoring and cross-training Must possess strong communication skills, both written and oral. Must possess strong organizational skills to successfully manage multiple, competing priorities. Must be able to interface effectively with clients, team members, and other firm resources. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite Must be able to make sound decisions/recommendations based on the evaluation and synthesis of project information and data. Must be physically and mentally capable of performing all essential duties required of the position.
