OVERVIEW
Protera Health is seeking a dedicated Athletic Trainer to join our multidisciplinary clinical team, helping patients navigate their musculoskeletal (MSK) care journey through synchronous virtual visits and ongoing asynchronous support.
This position offers the opportunity to work alongside physicians, advanced practice providers, and physical therapists as an integral member of the care team. You will build meaningful relationships with patients while contributing to an innovative healthcare startup that is transforming orthopedic care.

POSITION SUMMARY
As a core member of our Clinical team, you will serve as a primary point of contact for patients throughout their care journey. During synchronous virtual visits, Athletic Trainers promote engagement, accountability, and patient education. Between visits, you will provide ongoing asynchronous support, serving as the liaison between patients and the multidisciplinary care team to ensure timely communication, coordinated care, and successful navigation of individualized treatment plans.
You will collaborate closely with physicians, advanced practice providers, physical therapists, and wellness coaches to deliver exceptional, coordinated care.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Serve as a trusted guide and primary point of contact throughout each patient’s care journey.
- Conduct virtual visits to educate, motivate, and support patients in achieving their health goals.
- Reinforce individualized care plans developed by the multidisciplinary clinical team.
- Promote adherence to prescribed home exercise programs while providing education and resources that support healthy lifestyle behaviors.
- Identify barriers to patient engagement and develop strategies to improve participation and outcomes.
- Monitor patient progress and communicate clinical concerns or changes to the appropriate members of the care team.
- Provide education on topics including pain science, nutrition, sleep, ergonomics, stress management, behavior change, and other wellness strategies that support musculoskeletal health.
- Collaborate closely with the multidisciplinary care team to optimize patient outcomes.
- Participate in clinical discussions, quality improvement initiatives, and operational projects as assigned.
