Description
Propelus® simplifies workforce compliance management across healthcare. Our innovative technology and strategic partnerships empower millions of professionals, their employers, and regulators to work together, creating a connected and efficient healthcare ecosystem. As a trusted leader for over 20 years, Propelus has focused on bringing more good into the lives of the people and organizations serving healthcare. We deliver seamless compliance solutions to millions. We leverage market-leading technology and essential data to simplify complex operations, reduce risk, and champion a safer, healthier, and happier workforce. Overview | We are looking for a UX Engineer who designs and ships. This is a design-leaning hybrid role: you own the user experience end to end, from research and interaction design through high-fidelity, production-ready front-end. You will spend most of your time in design and UX, and you will use Claude Design or similar AI tools to turn your designs into working code that engineers can build on without a traditional handoff. This role sits on the Product team and focuses on our CE Broker professional application and marketplace and our Evercheck HR compliance tools. You will partner closely with product managers, engineers, and stakeholders to create intuitive, accessible interfaces that drive real business outcomes. As a Level III individual contributor, you are expected to lead design-engineering discussions and raise the quality bar across the work you own. The work happens in regulated healthcare contexts, so accessibility, clarity, and trust are not optional. The best candidate treats them as core craft. Core Responsibilities | This role includes but is not limited to: - Lead the design and redesign of full application experiences across CE Broker from early research through shipped UI. - Conduct and synthesize user research with product managers to understand user needs, identify pain points, and translate insights into design decisions. - Create wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity mockups for web and mobile, and validate them with real users before build. - Build production-quality front-end code for your designs using React and Tailwind CSS, with a focus on reliability, accessibility, and performance. - Use Claude Design to move from design to working code quickly, and review that output for quality, edge cases, and maintainability before it reaches engineering. - Own and extend our design system: components, tokens, patterns, and documentation that keep the experience consistent across products. - Lead design-engineering discussions and contribute to decisions about interaction patterns, component architecture, and design system direction. - Ensure ADA and accessibility compliance and front-end best practices across everything you ship. - Stay current on UX, front-end, and AI tooling trends, and bring back what is worth adopting. Qualifications & Expertise | - 4 to 7 years of experience as a UX/product designer with a strong portfolio of shipped products. - Demonstrated ability to lead full application design and redesign projects end to end. - Proficiency with modern design and prototyping tools. Experience with Figma is a plus. - Front-end development skills using React and Tailwind CSS, with the ability to produce production-ready code. - Fluency with AI-assisted design and coding tools, including Claude Design, and sound judgment about when to rely on AI output and when to refine it by hand. This is a core expectation of the role, not a nice-to-have. - Experience building and maintaining design systems. - A strong grasp of user-centered design, product thinking, and how design connects to business strategy. - Understanding of ADA compliance and accessibility standards (WCAG). - Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to articulate design and technical decisions clearly to designers, engineers, and product partners
