Description
At Coras, we fuse expertise with humanity, rigor with creativity and innovation with curiosity. At the core of our business is the belief that a diversity of perspectives is the key to new thinking. That’s why our team brings together deep industry experience with some of the brightest young minds in Australia. Our values are more than just words on an email signature; we’re driven by an ethos that inspires and governs everything we do. The Role:
Based in Canberra or Adelaide , we are looking for Technical Writers to join our growing Nuclear capability. This role will support the creation, refinement and delivery of critical documentation within a highly technical and regulated Defence environment.
You’ll work closely with engineers, project managers, technical specialists and Defence stakeholders to translate complex information into clear, accurate and usable documentation that supports Australia’s naval nuclear capability.
This is a role for someone who understands that in high-assurance environments, documentation is more than words — it supports safety, governance, decision-making and operations.
You will be responsible for:
Developing, reviewing and maintaining technical documentation across complex Defence projects
Working with technical specialists to capture, interpret and communicate complex engineering and project information
Producing clear, structured documentation that supports safety, assurance and governance requirements
Supporting the consistency, quality and traceability of project documentation
Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure documentation accurately reflects technical requirements and project outcomes
Our Ideal Candidate:
You’re a strong communicator who enjoys working with complex information and turning technical concepts into clear, practical documentation. You have experience operating in environments where accuracy, compliance and attention to detail are critical.
You will bring:
Demonstrated experience producing technical documentation in a highly regulated or technical environment
Strong writing, editing and communication skills, with the ability to tailor information for different audiences
Experience working with engineers, technical specialists, project teams or subject matter experts
The ability to understand complex information, identify key messages and communicate them clearly
Strong organisational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple documentation activities
Experience developing documentation such as engineering reports, procedures, assurance cases, management plans or technical specifications
Having these other abilities would also be awesome (but not mandatory):
Experience within Defence, maritime, infrastructure, energy or other high-assurance industries
An engineering, science, project management or technical background
Exposure to nuclear capability, nuclear safety, assurance or regulatory environments
Experience supporting safety management systems, compliance frameworks or risk-based environments
As we are a Defence consultancy, you must also have the ability to obtain and maintain an AGSVA security clearance. Why join Coras?
Coras prides itself on being a management consultancy with a difference. Underpinned by our core values, we are trailblazers for innovative consulting models and strategic solutions. As a result
