[What you will be working on]
We are seeking a Systems Engineer to support the lifecycle of our smart city solutions from initial concept through deployment and maintenance. In this role, you will apply systems engineering methodologies to help bridge the gap between product management and engineering.
You will be responsible for translating stakeholder needs into defined technical requirements, ensuring the system-of-interest meets functional and performance goals. You will serve as a key technical interface, collaborating with business stakeholders, customers, and multidisciplinary engineering teams to ensure cohesive product delivery.
What You'll Do

Requirements Management & Traceability: Assist in establishing and maintaining the System Requirements Specification (SyRS). Deconstruct product capabilities into clear, verifiable technical requirements and maintain the bidirectional traceability matrix.
Lifecycle Coordination: Support the system lifecycle from concept through deployment. Work closely with design engineering and operations teams to monitor system reliability, maintainability, and scalability.
Operational Feedback Integration: Track operational requirements (e.g., uptime, monitoring, field performance) and help translate live operational data and user feedback into actionable updates for the product backlog.
System Verification & Validation (V&V): Execute the V&V strategy. Draft acceptance criteria, participate in system integration testing, and assist in coordinating formal validation and User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
Technical Risk & Trade Studies: Participate in technical risk assessments and trade studies to evaluate trade-offs (cost, schedule, performance). Help track and mitigate identified technical and schedule risks.
Stakeholder & Vendor Coordination: Coordinate with external contractors and internal stakeholders to track service levels, deliverables, and performance alignment.
[What we are looking for]
Technical Skills & Experience Required
Experience: >5 years of experience working within complex hardware/software lifecycles, ideally operating at the intersection of Systems Engineering and Product/Project Coordination.
Requirements Engineering: Strong understanding of requirements engineering principles, including experience managing traceability using enterprise tools such as Jira, Confluence, or similar RM tools.
