Description
About Jetson Jetson is on a mission to accelerate the transition of 100 million homes across North America away from fossil fuels toward sustainable energy use. We believe in a future that is 100% electric and 100% better. Homes are one of the largest sources of carbon emissions, yet adoption of solutions like heat pumps remains slow due to cost and complexity. Jetson is solving this by building the first fully vertically integrated home electrification company — making clean energy simple, transparent, and affordable. We rely heavily on technology, automation, and data to scale this impact. At Jetson, we value people who are excellent at their craft, curious about new tools (including AI), and motivated to continuously improve how work gets done. The Opportunity As a Jetson System Designer, you turn a signed deal into an installable plan. You'll walk homeowners through a virtual tour of their home, validate sizing and electrical capacity, and produce the installation plan that sets up both the crew and the homeowner for a great day. Our projects span the US and Canada, and this role is what makes a Jetson install feel effortless: done right, permitted properly, and completed in a single day. This role reports to the Director of Customer Operations. What You Will Do: Run virtual walkthroughs of customer sites via online meeting tools — a full technical review capturing the photos and data markers needed for calculations, site mapping, and materials planning. Perform and review heating and cooling load calculations (ACCA Manual J in the US, CSA F280 in Canada) to confirm accurate system sizing for every home and region, for Jetson Air projects. Jetson Water and Jetson Charge project requirements are defined upstream of sales and installation. Perform and review electrical load calculations to code (NEC or Canadian Electrical Code), including demonstrated load calculations, to confirm panel capacity and flag when upgrades are needed. Build the installation plan and site plan — unit locations, panel location, and lineset routing — designed so the crew completes the work in our one-day timeframe, with customer signoff locked in. Make sure every project clears the local AHJ, handling permit requirements and preparing HOA/Strata approval packages where needed. Keep Customer Success, Project Coordinators, and Operations in sync throughout. Track customer data and progress in Jetson's CRM. What You Bring: A results-driven, detail-oriented mindset with a track record of delivering plans that actually execute. Solid HVAC, plumbing, or electrical fundamentals — including how heat pumps perform in cold climates. Experience with residential load calculations (Manual J, CSA F280, or equivalent) and working knowledge of residential electrical systems. Excellent communication in English — friendly, confident, and empathetic on the phone, over email, or on video. The organization to thrive in a fast-paced environment, with a love for getting the details right. Genuine enthusiasm for clean energy and helping people make the switch. 3+ years in HVAC design, technical documentation, mechanical engineering, or a related technical field. Experience working in a CRM (HubSpot, Salesforce, or similar). Comfort in a startup or growth-stage environment. Bonus points: field experience installing or servicing residential HVAC, or experience with permitting, building departments, or HOA/Strata approvals Job Type:   Full-time, Permanent Pay: $73,000 - $81,000 per annum Benefits Dental Care, Vision Care & Life Insurance premiums fully paid by Jetson Extended Health Care Disability Insurance Education Support Parental Leave Top Up Work Location: In person - North Vancouver, BC Do you feel like you don't have everything that's listed above but can still do the job?
