Description
ABOUT AFTERQUERY AfterQuery https://www.afterquery.com/ is an applied research lab curating data solutions for foundation model development. We serve every frontier AI lab with the mission of delivering the best data to power the best models. In doing so, we can make expertise that once took a lifetime to build available to anyone who needs it. Our customers are the ones building the foundation models themselves and our work sits directly in the loop of how those systems improve. This is a rare opportunity to join a company at a defining moment in AI. Since raising our $30M Series A at a $300M valuation, AfterQuery has grown well over a $100M revenue run rate. We're based in San Francisco and backed by leading investors including Altos Ventures, BoxGroup, and Y Combinator and angels from Google DeepMind, OpenAI, Anthropic, Meta Superintelligence Labs, and Microsoft AI. AfterQuery is seeking exceptional candidates for our Technical Strategic Projects Intern position. You'll be joining us in SF full-time for the Spring 2026 semester. This is not a typical job – you'll work directly with our co-founder and CEO, Spencer, on high-priority operations and go-to-market initiatives. Key Responsibilities - Help create new expert-generated datasets - Hire and manage small teams of domain experts across high-skilled professional services domains (i.e., doctors, software engineers, quants, lawyers, bankers) - Collaborate with internal teams to drive groundbreaking AI research (i.e., UI-Bench https://www.uibench.ai/, FinanceQA https://arxiv.org/abs/2501.18062) - Help design sales processes and strategies - Design strategies to source contact information of new customers (researchers) - Help create messaging, positioning, and value propositions for customers - Support the founding team across various operational and sales initiatives Qualifications - Enrolled in an undergraduate program, willing to relocate to SF for a gap semester - Technical background (i.e., studies computer science, math, or statistics, or notable SWE/ML internship or research experience) - Internship experience at a top consulting, finance, and tech firm - Intense work ethic, agency, and drive - Strong leadership experience and communication skills - Excellent and quick communication (responds to messages in <1 hour) - Attention to detail
