Our teams ensure that customers quickly receive their home security system to meet our company mission of Every Home Secure. From informing our customers about our product, providing a seamless checkout experience, and delivering that product to their door, our team is focused on delivering the best experience for our customers powered by a platform focused on testability, performance, and reliability. As a Staff Software Engineer, you’ll help shape the future of our e-commerce codebase by focusing on developer experience and long-term engineering vision by: Building solutions for our e-commerce platform including design, development, testing, and deployment Using the best tools for the job; creating right-sized, tested, and reliable services to meet the needs of the customers and co-workers Working with marketing teams to ensure a high quality, fast, and easy online shopping experience for our customers Working with our data analytics team to ensure we are capturing and leveraging the information we need to drive business decisions Working with operations teams to communicate with fulfillment and shipping services that power our warehouses Working with our QA engineers to ensure we run quality E2E tests during each stage of CI/CD Building reporting services and self-service internal tools for use by others to expand SimpliSafe’s capabilities About You 8+ years of professional experience developing software and business solutions Ability to provide examples of leading or developing full-stack solutions from concept to completion Proven ability to mentor engineers, drive technical decision-making, and set standards that elevate the team's engineering quality Expert experience with React and modern JavaScript frameworks (Remix, Next.js, React Router), including rendering strategies (SSR, CSR, SSG) and scalable client/server architecture design Experience with design systems, component libraries, and structuring a large scale React application Deep expertise in Node.js and TypeScript, with a strong track record of building and scaling production applications Experience designing and implementing backend services with REST and GraphQL APIs using frameworks like NestJS or Express.js Knowledge of SQL including experience with ORM (TypeORM, Prisma, or others), query optimization, and schema design Experienced cloud-native developer (AWS preferred), focused on creating scalable services using performant architecture patterns and tools including infrastructure as code
