Description
About Syllo  Syllo is on a mission to transform litigation. Our product is a unified litigation platform that enables lawyers and paralegals to safely harness the power of language models and agentic AI throughout the litigation life cycle. Since going to market, we have gained a diverse group of enterprise customers, including some of the biggest law firms and corporations in the country, and we are quickly expanding. By reducing the expense of litigation industry-wide, we aim to improve access to high-quality representation and promote the alignment of legal outcomes with merit.  About the Role We're looking for a Lead QA Engineer to own and evolve Syllo's quality assurance function. This is a highly autonomous hands on leadership role responsible for defining our approach to quality, driving automation, and ensuring every release meets a high bar for reliability, performance, and user experience. This is not a traditional QA role. We're looking for someone who combines deep technical expertise with strong product instincts—someone who understands customers, anticipates edge cases, and builds scalable systems that enable the entire organization to ship with confidence. You'll set the technical direction from Product Operations establish scalable testing frameworks and processes, champion quality across Engineering, Product, and Customer Success, and leverage AI to transform how testing is performed. You'll have the autonomy to make tooling decisions, introduce new technologies, and continuously improve how we build and release software. Responsibilities  Own the QA Strategy Own and evolve Syllo's overall quality assurance strategy. Establish scalable QA processes that support rapid, high-confidence releases. Define quality standards, release criteria, and testing best practices across the organization. Continuously improve how quality is measured, communicated, and maintained. Identify opportunities to shift quality earlier in the development lifecycle through better tooling, automation, and process. Lead Automation Set the technical direction for our automated testing strategy. Design, build, and maintain automated testing frameworks that integrate seamlessly into our CI/CD pipeline. Evaluate and implement the tools, frameworks, and architecture that best support long-term quality and engineering velocity. Continuously expand automated test coverage while reducing manual testing effort. Drive the evolution of our automation capabilities as our product and engineering organization scales. Champion Quality Develop a deep understanding of customer workflows, product functionality, and business priorities. Think like a customer, proactively identifying edge cases, failure modes, and usability issues before they reach production. Distinguish true release blockers from lower-priority defects, balancing quality with execution speed. Partner with Product to recommend improvements that enhance the customer experience, not just eliminate bugs. Lead Cross-Functional Quality Champion quality across Engineering, Product, Customer Success, Product Operations, and other cross-functional partners. Coordinate testing efforts across teams while maintaining clear ownership and accountability. Partner with Customer Success to reproduce complex customer issues, translate them into actionable test cases, and validate fixes before release. Influence engineering and product teams to continuously improve quality throughout the software development lifecycle. Leverage AI to Modernize QA  We're building an AI-first company, and we believe our quality practices should reflect that. You'll evaluate and implement AI-powered workflows that improve testing efficiency, including generating test cases, maintaining automation, accelerating exploratory testing, analyzing failures, identifying regression risk, and increasing release confidence.
