What You’ll Be Responsible For Application Development: Build and maintain scalable web applications using Ruby and the Rails framework. Back-End Logic & APIs: Implement server-side logic, develop RESTful APIs, and manage background jobs. Database Management: Design and maintain database schemas, optimize queries, and work with PostgreSQL or MySQL. Integrations: Connect applications with third-party APIs and integrate front-end components with backend processes. Quality & Testing: Implement automated testing (RSpec, Minitest), participate in code reviews, and ensure code quality. Troubleshooting: Identify and resolve bugs, bottlenecks, and performance issues. Collaboration: Work with designers, product managers, and engineering teams in Agile/Scrum environments. Deployment (Optional/Senior): Support CI/CD pipelines and deployments using AWS, Heroku, or similar platforms. Requirements What We’re Looking For Strong proficiency in Ruby and Ruby on Rails , including MVC, ORM, and RESTful design. Experience with relational databases ( PostgreSQL, MySQL ) and schema design. Basic knowledge of front-end technologies ( JavaScript, HTML5, CSS3 ) for integration purposes. Proficiency with Git and version control best practices. Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills. Effective communication and ability to work in remote, cross-functional teams. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering , or a related field — or equivalent hands-on experience. Nice-to-Haves Experience with Redis, Sidekiq , or other background job tools Familiarity with Docker Experience deploying apps to AWS, Heroku , or other cloud environments Exposure to CI/CD tools such as GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or CircleCI Benefits Work Model Remote role, open to candidates anywhere in Mexico Contractor scheme You will be a Scalepex employee working for an international client
