About the role The Integrations, Data Engineering and AI (IDEA) team within Samsara’s Business Technology organization is looking  for a Data Operations Engineer to join our team. We enable various teams at Samsara to leverage data and AI to make data-driven decisions by delivering reliable integrations, APIs and data platforms for trustworthy data & analytics. The Data Operations Engineer will be responsible for the health, stability, and performance of our production data platform, including data ingestion pipelines, processing jobs, and data warehousing. This role requires a blend of data engineering skills and operational rigor to ensure high availability and data quality for downstream consumers and business intelligence. This is a remote role and is open to candidates residing in Canada. Monitoring and Alerting: Design, implement, and maintain monitoring, logging, and alerting systems for all production data pipelines and infrastructure. Pipeline Management: Manage, deploy, and maintain data and integrations pipelines and APIs. Performance Optimization: Continuously identify and implement optimizations to improve the speed, scalability, and efficiency of data processing jobs and API performance. Data Quality: Develop and enforce data validation and quality checks within the pipelines to minimize errors and inconsistencies in production data.
