We are Sparksoft!   ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES: SparkLabs is seeking a motivated Data Development Intern to join our team in Columbia, MD for a 3-month hands-on engagement. In this role, you will contribute directly to a development project focused on building health quality measures using the Snowflake data platform. You will work closely with experienced engineers who will mentor you throughout the internship, helping you grow your technical skills and apply your academic foundation in a real-world setting. This is a meaningful opportunity to gain practical experience working with modern cloud data technologies while contributing to work that supports health quality outcomes. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES   Write, test, and optimize SQL queries to support the development of health quality measures Build and maintain data transformations and logic within the Snowflake platform Support the design and implementation of data models aligned with health quality reporting requirements Conduct data validation and quality checks to ensure accuracy and consistency of outputs Collaborate with team members to understand technical requirements and translate them into solutions Document technical processes, data definitions, and development decisions Participate in team meetings and contribute to an agile, collaborative work environment Engage actively with mentors to accelerate technical and professional growth REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:  Foundational knowledge of SQL, including writing, troubleshooting, and optimizing queries Working knowledge of Unix/Linux, including command-line navigation and scripting basics Familiarity with cloud platforms and cloud-based data environments Familiarity with cloud-based data platforms or data warehousing concepts Understanding of data modeling and data transformation principles Exposure to data development workflows through academic coursework or project experience Strong analytical thinking and attention to detail Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment and communicate technical concepts clearly Candidates must be able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance. Candidates must have lived in the United States 3 out of the past 5 years.
