As part of a strategic initiative to strengthen hardware/software integration and improve the predictability of software releases, we are expanding our scope to include system-level testing capabilities and deeper engagement with software development processes. THE POSITION This position is ideal for a Systems Engineer, Software Tester, or Software Integration professional who enjoys working across software and hardware to improve the end-to-end customer experience. You will join the Systems Engineering Team, which is responsible for design control, risk management, usability engineering, and biocompatibility throughout the product lifecycle. The team works closely with hardware, software, and quality functions to ensure compliance with applicable regulatory standards, including ISO 13485 and IEC 62304. We are seeking a Systems Engineer to establish and grow a system-level software/hardware integration capability within the team. As a key interface between Systems Engineering and software development, you will ensure that software releases are evaluated against overall product behaviour and real-world clinical workflows. This newly created role offers a unique opportunity to shape processes and build capabilities from the ground up. The position reports to the Head of Systems Engineering. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES • Build and mature a system-level software/hardware integration capability across Systems Engineering • Strengthen validation of the full end-to-end customer flow, including hardware, software, embedded interfaces, and clinical workflows • Establish and maintain a system-level release testing process integrated into the software release cycle • Ensure continuous hardware/software integration validation beyond component-level testing • Identify and address gaps in end-to-end test coverage, with particular focus on real customer workflows and clinical use scenarios • Define and formalise acceptance criteria to support early validation and reduce defect detection latency • Promote a holistic system perspective across software development activities and the broader product experience • Lead the development of a scalable System Test Lab, building organisational resilience around a capability currently supported by a single resource The expected outcomes of this role include earlier defect detection, reduction of late-stage non-conformances, and increased predictability of software releases. QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE We welcome applications from candidates at all levels of seniority. The following qualifications and competencies are considered relevant to the role: • Degree in systems engineering, software engineering, computer science, or a related technical discipline • Professional experience in systems engineering, software quality assurance, integration testing, or a comparable function in medical device industry • Experience working in accordance with ISO 13485 and IEC 62304 • Demonstrated understanding of software development processes and methodologies • Experience with system-level or integration testing in a hardware/software product environment • Ability to reason across the full product stack, from embedded software and hardware interfaces to end-user experience • Structured approach to problem-solving, with the ability to translate gaps into actionable processes and documentation • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with experience working across multidisciplinary engineering teams Join us in shaping a company culture that makes Monday mornings worth it.
