Job Summary We are looking for a detail-oriented and analytical Software Engineer to join our Mayhem Engineering team. In this role, you will be responsible for the design and development of our cloud native, API-first platform for Mayhem, our autonomous application security testing platform. We aim to help organizations find and fix security vulnerabilities faster than threat actors can exploit them. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Design, build, and maintain full-stack features across a Python/Flask backend and a TypeScript/React frontend Expertise in scalable API-first architecture, service patterns, and robust API standards for third-party integrations Build and maintain integrations connecting Mayhem with customer systems, security tools, workflow engines, and more Create consistent service patterns and ensure strong guarantees around interfaces and performance Improve internal engineering tools that support security triage and vulnerability workflows Collaborate with designers using our accessible and standards-compliant design system (bugcrowd.design) Ensure high accessibility, stability, and performance across integration workflows Education, Experience, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities 3+ years of experience Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field Experience in the cybersecurity domain Strong technical skills in full-stack development, including backend API development (Python/Flask) and frontend development (TypeScript/React) Strong background in agile delivery, backlog management, and stakeholder communication Excellent problem-solving, prioritization, and decision-making skills Nice to have: experience with Rust (used in some internal CLIs) Nice to have: experience with GCP and/or AWS, GitHub Actions, and Keycloak Working Conditions and Physical Requirements The ideal candidate must be able to complete all physical requirements of the job with or without reasonable accommodation. Sitting and / or standing - Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time Carrying and / or lifting - Must be able to carry / move laptop as needed throughout the work day.
