Description
About M7 Health M7 Health is the AI-powered workforce operations platform for healthcare, designed for the realities of clinical staffing and scheduling. We use AI to help organizations forecast demand, auto-balance schedules, and deploy the right person to fill every shift before resorting to premium labor spend. The result: health systems reduce overtime, cut contract labor costs, and give clinical leaders time back to focus on care. Built with the earned wisdom of nurses, M7 serves tens of thousands of healthcare professionals daily and activated over 100 net new hospitals across 29 states, last year alone. M7 recently raised a $10M Series A, backed by Threshold and First Round Capital, and we're building the team to match our ambition. About The Role We're looking for a hands-on Software Engineer, Data & Integrations to lead a team of engineers who own, scale, and extend the integrations that connect M7 to health systems' core platforms including time and attendance (UKG, Symplr) and HRIS (Workday, ADP). These integrations already run in production across our hospital base; your team's job is to harden, enhance, and scale what we have as we grow, while building the new integrations that expand our reach. This is a hands-on, player-coach role - roughly 70% hands-on engineering and 30% leadership. You'll spend most of your time writing and reviewing production code, and the rest setting technical direction, raising the bar on quality, and unblocking the people around you. This is not a formal people-management role: you'll report to the Head of Engineering while directly running the day-to-day of the engineers on your team, owning technical direction, code review, and delivery for the team. You will be the engineering owner of M7's integration layer: the pipelines that ingest, transform, and reconcile data from messy, heterogeneous source systems and make it reliable enough to build on. Over time, this team will own the data integrations that power M7's intelligence - the forecasting, auto-balancing, and staffing insights at the heart of the product depend on trustworthy data flowing in from every health system we serve. You'll partner with product and activations to scope complex customer environments, and work directly with customers' IT, payroll, and HR teams to get integrations live and keep them healthy. Responsibilities: - Lead a small, hands-on team - Run the day-to-day of the team - setting technical direction, owning delivery, and growing the engineers on it - Stay hands-on: write and review production code, design systems, and debug the hard problems alongside your team - Strengthen the engineering practices, on-call posture, and quality bar for a domain where reliability and data correctness are non-negotiable - Own the integration layer end-to-end - Enhance, scale, and extend M7's existing integrations and build new ones across our time-and-attendance and HRIS source systems - Keep these pipelines resilient and correct as we add customers and sources, and as upstream systems change - Own the operational health of integrations in production - monitoring, alerting, and the runbooks that keep data flowing reliably at every customer site - Work directly with IT, payroll, and HR teams at our health system customers to scope source-system access, troubleshoot data discrepancies, and get integrations live - Power M7's intelligence with trustworthy data - Ensure the data feeding M7's forecasting, scheduling, and staffing intelligence is accurate, timely, and well-modeled - Partner with product to translate customer technical requirements into well-scoped systems, from discovery through delivery - Partner with the Activations team to ensure integrations are deployable, well-documented, and supportable at scale What Success Looks Like (First 6 Months) - You're hands-on in the codebase early - shipping fixes and enhancements to existing in
