Besides its headquarters in Switzerland, AutoForm has offices in Germany, The Netherlands, France, Spain, Italy, Czech Republic, Sweden, USA, Mexico, Brazil, India, China, Japan and Korea.   To support the growth of our Software Development Department in Zürich, we are looking for a   (Senior) Software Engineer (m/f) 80–100%   ML\-based Mechanical Simulation   To further improve the efficiency of computationally demanding assembly simulations, we are developing machine\-learning\-based (ML) methods to accelerate computationally intensive mechanical simulations. To support this development, we are looking for a software engineer with a solid background in numerical simulation, computational geometry, and machine learning in mechanics. This is a hands\-on engineering role at the intersection of finite element (FE) simulation, ML\-based modeling, and production\-quality software engineering.   Your tasks   As a (Senior) Software Engineer – ML\-based Mechanical Simulation, you will:   Extend and automate synthetic training and validation datasets   Optimize ML\-models with respect to accuracy, robustness, generalization capability, and inference cost   Integrate ML inference into FE solver towards production\-ready industrial software solution   Work closely with experts in BiW, simulation technology, software engineering and machine learning in an agile SCRUM\-based setup   Your profile   We’re looking for someone with the following background and mindset:   Degree or doctorate in computer science, engineering, computational mechanics, applied mathematics, physics, or a related natural science   Extensive experience applying machine learning methods to mechanical or physical simulation problems   Solid understanding of numerical methods for engineering applications   Practical experience with computational geometry, including efficient geometric and topological algorithms   Strong programming skills in and C/C\+\+   Confidence to work with large code bases and to develop robust, maintainable software components   Team player with a strong commitment to problem solving and collaboration   Fluent English required; German is a plus   Our offer   A challenging role in a respectful and global working environment   Being part of a world\-leading, high\-end CAE software company   Working on cutting edge technologies for the automotive industry   The opportunity to contribute directly to ML\-supported simulation of complex engineering problems   Professional development and continuous education   Excellent balance between your working life and your private life through flexible home office and flexible working hours   Start of work is 1st October 2026\.
