YOUR TEAM & YOUR MISSION The Engineering Team at Eskimi tackles complex adtech challenges with a focus on delivering business value quickly. Engineers build both scalable infrastructure and high-throughput, low-latency systems, solving complex problems that demand deep system-level thinking beyond the reach of AI tools. The culture is built on making decisive technical choices that drive business outcomes. The team moves fast from problem identification to solution deployment, prioritizing impact over perfection. In this role, you'll join the bidders team - the engineers who own the core of our real-time bidding platform - while also using AI as a practical tool to ship faster, write better code, and take on work that would otherwise require a much larger team. WHAT YOU’LL DO Build and ship features on our real-time bidding platform - at 200k+ QPS, performance and correctness are non-negotiable Use AI tools hands-on to ship code faster — own what you build end-to-end, from the first prompt to production deployment Contribute to rewriting and modernising parts of our legacy platform, using AI tooling to move faster without cutting corners Help shaping how the team works with AI day-to-day — what goes into the workflow, what doesn't, and how we raise the bar over time WHAT WILL HELP YOU DO IT Engineering Foundation 4+ years of backend engineering experience in a compiled, statically-typed language - Java, Kotlin, Go, Rust, C#, or Scala (we use Scala; we'll help you make the switch if your fundamentals are solid) Comfortable with distributed systems: consistency trade-offs, failure modes, async processing Experience with relational databases and at least one in-memory or NoSQL system (Redis, Aerospike, Cassandra, etc.) You've shipped things to production and kept them running - monitoring, alerting, on-call mindset Working experience with Git, testing strategies, and CI/CD pipelines AI & LLM Experience You've built and deployed at least one LLM-powered feature in a real product - not just a demo or a hackathon project You know how to design prompts for reliable, structured output - and what to do when the model doesn't cooperate You've thought about eval strategy: how do you know if your AI feature is working, and how do you catch regressions?
