Role Description and Mission: The Software Architect (Applied AI) is a hands-on building role (player-coach) that functions as a vanguard for technology innovation. You will be responsible for architecting and directly developing the first instances of new technology-enabled capabilities. This is an IC role focused on zero-to-one product development and advising on the adoption of emerging technologies, specifically applied AI and building and scaling AI agents. You will build and deliver scalable software solutions that serve as the fundamental blocks for modern applications, working closely with early adopters to transition mature capabilities to broader technical groups. You are a product-minded engineer who can both qualify emerging tech and overcome its limitations to deliver real value. Key Outcomes: Architect, design, and build hands-on solutions for complex software problems, focusing on applied AI and scalable product architectures. Lead the end-to-end development process: research, analyze, design, build, test, and implement software from the ground up (zero to one) and at scale. Provide comprehensive architecture designs that meet immediate product needs while ensuring scalability for future growth. Act as a product-minded partner, digging into assumptions to clarify requirements and ensure technical solutions solve underlying user problems. Collaborate cross-functionally with product and design teams to effectively communicate intent and ensure seamless integration of AI capabilities. Design software systems to be extensible and maintainable. Design and test prototypes, proofs-of-technology and proofs-of-concept. Adapt to fill Subject Matter Expert roles within the technical organization based on organizational needs. Strive to remove and prevent silos of information within the organization. Mentor junior engineers cross-functionally. Skills, Education, & Experience: 8+ years of related experience in software engineering and systems architecture. Proven track record in "zero to one" product development and building products at scale. Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.  Experience with creation of Generative AI-Powered applications while minimizing impacts of hallucinations and other issues (SE4AI) Experience with pragmatic application of Generative AI tooling that enhances developer productivity while still allowing developers to maintain necessary skills and system understan
