Help us save lives and make a difference.    What You'll Do:   The  Shift Supervisor is responsible for providing operational and administrative oversight of the facility during assigned shifts or within specific units, ensuring safe, efficient, and patient-centered delivery of care. The Shift Supervisor oversees day-to-day workflow, patient throughput, staffing coordination, and real-time problem solving to support smooth movement of patients through the facility and  appropriate care  at each stage of treatment. This role serves as the on-shift leader and key resource for staff, patients, families, and community partners, while promoting effective communication, regulatory compliance, sound clinical operations, and  optimal  use of resources to  maintain a safe and therapeutic environment. Oversee the operation of the assigned unit and shift to ensure the clinical team is operating efficiently, smoothly, and consistently to support high-quality clinical care and outcomes. Oversee the operation, organization, and flow of patients through the unit and facility, including but not limited to delegating work assignments for all disciplines, and supporting admissions, transfers, and discharges to and from the unit. Acts as the onsite resource for the clinical staff, individuals, family members, or community stakeholders. Responsible for ensuring all clinical staff are following Utilization Management and Revenue Cycle Management guidelines to ensure correct coding and billing of services. Manages escalated concerns/problems from internal and external stakeholders. Actively assesses and manages barriers that impact flow through the facility. Ensures compliance with policies, procedures, all standards of practice, and the requirements of regulatory and accreditation agencies. Assists with training and orientation of new staff to unit processes and procedures. Partners with discipline manager to ensure full orientation to position. Utilizes de-escalation procedures and theories to assist in providing a safe milieu. Utilizes skills effectively to describe and demonstrate roles and responsibilities related to safety. Partners with clinical and administrative managers to identify and manage performance and behavior issues. Is trained in and able to perform Safe Clinch techniques and provide oversight and guidance.
