In this leadership role, you will be instrumental in defining, designing, and overseeing the development of our enterprise-wide Design System and sharable UI component library, ensuring consistency, scalability, and reusability across all Redwood products. You will guide development teams within an AI-Accelerated SDLC, focusing on high-level system architecture, complex UI problem-solving, and governance of design and component standards. Define the technical architecture and roadmap for our enterprise-wide Design System and sharable UI component library, focusing on multi-product reusability, scalability, and accessibility. Establish and govern front-end engineering standards and best practices, ensuring all product teams adhere to the Design System for a unified user experience. Lead the collaboration with UX and Product Management to translate design requirements into system-level architectural specifications and high-level component designs. Utilize AI coding assistants to accelerate development, focusing on complex UI components and offloading repetitive front-end tasks. Rigorously review, debug, and optimize AI-generated UI code for performance, accessibility, security, and adherence to established UI/UX standards. Apply prompt engineering techniques to maximize the efficacy of generative AI tools for writing comprehensive unit/end-to-end tests (e.g., Playwright) and drafting technical documentation for front-end systems. Drive major UI architectural decisions and provide technical guidance to feature development teams to ensure scalability, security, and performance across the product portfolio. Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code following best practices. Implement and maintain automated tests (unit, integration, and end-to-end) to ensure code quality and reliability. Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve software defects and production issues. Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and industry trends, and advocate for their adoption where appropriate. Mentor and coach senior and junior developers on modern front-end architectural patterns, effective Design System usage, and AI-accelerated development practices. YOUR EXPERIENCE  Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience). Extensive professional experience as a Senior/Lead Software Developer or Architect with a strong emphasis on React and modern UI architectural design. Solid understanding of front-end technologies such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, TypeScript, and modern JavaScript frameworks (e.g., ReactJS, MobX). Experience with RESTful API consumption and integration. Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and debugging skills.  Unit testing and automation tools such as Playwright.
