Help us make a real impact on shaping a better, more sustainable future. 🏠 Where you'll fit in: Kraken’s technology is written and maintained by a multi-discipline engineering team of around 1,400 people globally, which includes server-side, client-side, and mobile engineers. We follow an agile way of working, where individual teams are given the freedom to choose the tools that are most appropriate for managing their work. Kraken is a great place to learn, work with talented engineers and level-up your skills. Some of our coding conventions are open-source. Our technology Our backend developers use Python. Most of our websites are powered by Django and GraphQL (Graphene). Our CircleCI CI/CD pipeline runs tens of thousands of tests, deploying into AWS EKS defined by Terraform over 100 times per day and observed with tools like Sentry and Datadog. This allows us to move fast and at scale, without compromising reliability. Teams work differently but the commitment to quality is the same. Developers at Kraken are empowered to use cutting-edge AI tools and models. Any generated code is still owned by a human. What we do Kraken Engineering has multiple disciplinary groups with their own management structures and teams working together to create a unified Kraken that can be deployed to any territory in the world to achieve clients’ goals. At Kraken, you won't be boxed into one rigid path. Depending on your strengths and interests, you might find yourself modeling local energy markets, scaling a financial product across international territories, or driving the core comms engine behind all Kraken communications. Alternatively, you could be working directly with clients to enhance Kraken to solve their business needs or localise a particular market and help onboard their customers into the system. Whichever team you join, you’ll be solving complex problems with a group of genuinely great people. 📍Location  We are growing our team in Melbourne but we are also open to candidates remote within Australia. Many members work remotely with the understanding that they will occasionally be asked to attend special events or meetings.
