ABOUT SUPER.COM http://Super.com We started Super.com http://Super.com to help maximize lives–both the lives of our customers and the lives of our employees– so that everyone can experience all that life has to offer. For our employees, our promise is that Super.com http://Super.com is more than just a job; it’s an opportunity to unlock one’s potential, where learning is celebrated and impact is realized. We are more than a fast-paced, high-growth tech company https://www.super.com/press/super-2022-fast-500; we care about our people and take career progression seriously. This is your career and our aim is to supercharge it through the people, the work, and the programs https://www.super.com/careers that fuel who we are. About the role We're looking for a Senior Platform Engineer to join our DevOps/Infrastructure team. In this role you'll own and extend the tooling that our engineers use every day to build, ship, and maintain our products. As we move further along our AI adoption journey, you'll contribute directly to the AI infrastructure and enablement tooling that this team is responsible for. As the team's first dedicated Platform Engineer, you'll take a software-first approach to solving core infrastructure challenges through automation, self-serve tooling development, and by deploying new autonomous agentic systems. You'll operate as a cloud administrator within our AWS and Kubernetes environments, participate in our incident response rotation, provide direct support to other engineers over Slack, and act as a technical leader when designing and implementing new DevOps tooling solutions. Your efforts will directly improve the core DORA metrics of Super.com http://Super.com. This is a hands-on technical role with some intern mentorship and thought leadership responsibilities. About the team This DevOps & Infrastructure team is one of the oldest continually operating teams at Super.com http://Super.com, and has delivered significant milestones already. Across our teams we support upwards of 1000 production deployments per month, strong SLO performance, and continually improving DORA metrics. Our cloud infrastructure is modern and, thanks to this team's efforts, kept up-to-date. The basic early DevOps challenges such as trunk-based development, IAC adoption, canary releases and Kubernetes microservice adoption have all been tackled and now we've got our sights set on bringing in the newest technologies and capabilities as the tech world evolves. We use heavily high-quality tools like Datadog, EKS, IncidentIO, and Claude to support not just other engineers, but staff across the entire company. What you’ll be working on: - Build and maintain our internal developer platforms: self-serve infrastructure, paved paths, and AI-first automation. Automation code to be authored primarily in Python and JS/TS. - Maintain and extend our cloud infrastructure: Particularly Kubernetes (EKS), AWS, Postgres, Redis, Kafka, and Elasticsearch. Leverage tools like Terraform and Crossplane to keep our infrastructure declarative. - Support other engineers as a go-to technical expert, and bake tribal knowledge into tooling and docs so the platform, not a single person, is the source of truth. - Contribute as a technical mentor: Directly mentor interns. Level up other engineers through Lunch & Learns, guilds, documentation, and general knowledge-sharing. - Contribute strategically during objective setting, retrospectives, and cross-team discussions, and help shape the infrastructure roadmap. - Help maintain the availability, reliability, and security of our production infrastructure by participating in our on-call rotation, including monitoring, incident response, and resolving issues outside of standard business hours. Note: On-call is a core part of this role. Engineers take turns in a weekly on-call rotation and are compensated for each rotation per the company’s on-call compensation policy. Our Technology
