YOUR IMPACT We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join the DIAL team in the Phone Assistant domain.   Your mission will be to revolutionize access to care for patients and day-to-day practice management for practitioners through our Phone Assistant solution. You will work in a feature team developing innovative AI-powered voice services, contributing directly to millions of users across Germany, France, and Italy who rely on seamless phone interactions with their healthcare providers.   Working in the tech team at Doctolib means building innovative products and features to improve the daily lives of care teams and patients. WHAT YOU'LL BUILD Your responsibilities include but are not limited to: - Build and operate scalable backend services in Node.js/TypeScript with additional exposure to Python - Ship cloud-native systems on Kubernetes and major Cloud Services (AWS/Azure/GCP) - Set up and evolve CI/CD pipelines with GitHub Actions while maintaining a high testing standard (unit, integration, e2e) - Debug and improve distributed systems in production with strong observability practices - Learn and apply VoIP telephony fundamentals (SIP, RTP, etc.) to power real-time communication features - Own roadmap items end-to-end and contribute to pragmatic, secure architecture decisions - Design data models and drive database migrations and performance tuning for real-time workloads using PostgreSQL WHAT YOU'LL BRING Before you read on: if you don't have the exact profile described below, but you feel this job description matches your skill set, we still encourage you to apply. You'll be a great fit if you: - You have at least 5+ years of backend engineering experience - You have the ability to design, build, and maintain scalable, resilient backend systems using Node.js/TypeScript with some Python - You have proven experience deploying and operating services on Kubernetes within at least one major Cloud Service (AWS, Azure, or GCP) - You have experience with CI/CD (e.g., GitHub Actions) and maintain a strong testing culture (unit/integration/e2e) - You have solid debugging skills for microservices and distributed systems - You have working knowledge of relational databases (PostgreSQL/MySQL) and schema design - You have an interest in or exposure to VoIP telephony basics (SIP, RTP/SRTP, SBCs, SIP trunks) It would be fantastic if you: - You have experience with real-time communication systems (WebRTC, streaming, etc.) - You have worked with event-driven architectures and message brokers (Kafka/RabbitMQ/NATS/Redis Streams) - You are familiar with software design patterns; Domain-Driven Design is a plus - You have experience with PostgreSQL (migrations, EXPLAIN/ANALYZE, indexing strategies, connection pooling) and Redis (caching, short-lived state, queues) LIFE AT DOCTOLIB TECH - Our solutions are built on a single fully cloud-native platform that supports web and mobile app interfaces, multiple languages, and is adapted to country and healthcare specialty requirements. - Our stack is composed of Rails, TypeScript, Java, Python, Kotlin, Swift, and React Native. - We leverage AI ethically across our products to empower patients and health professionals.
