Description
Scopely is looking for a Senior Software Engineer - Platform to join our GenAI team in Mexico City! At Scopely, we care deeply about what we do and want to inspire play, every day - whether in our work environments alongside our talented colleagues, or through our deep connections with our communities of players. We are a global team of game lovers who are developing, publishing and innovating the mobile games industry, connecting millions of people around the world daily.  At Mirai - a Scopely Studio, we believe high-quality software is about partnership, advocacy, and deep respect for our colleagues. The best engineers augment their technical ability with listening first, asking thoughtful questions, and influencing through clarity, not volume. If that’s you, you’re going to thrive here and learn a ton! What You Will Do   We are hiring a Senior Platform Engineer to build hardened paved roads for AI applications, internal tools, and agentic systems. This role is for a strong software engineer with platform instincts: someone who raises the engineering bar, reduces avoidable slop, and makes the best path the easiest one to follow. The work spans platform hardening, maintainability, code quality gates, testing, approved MCP integration paths, identity and authorization patterns, and secure-by-default deployment practices for internal AI products. Design and build hardened platform capabilities that enable safe, scalable adoption of AI systems across the organization Create maintainable, verifiable delivery paths for AI applications through repo templates, pre-commit controls, merge gates, and policy-as-code guardrails Develop secure-by-default platform components, APIs, and service patterns that abstract away the complexity of identity, secret handling, authorization, and network hardening from product teams Harden MCP and agent integration paths using approved-tool patterns, allowlists, safe runtime defaults, isolation boundaries, and explicit control points Raise software quality across AI-heavy codebases through hands-on code reviews, reference implementations, and engineering standards focused on readability, testability, and debuggability Partner with GenAI engineers and cross-functional platform teams to reduce approval friction by automating best practices into coherent golden paths Integrate with enterprise identity systems such as SSO and SCIM, and design authorization models using least privilege, short-lived credentials, ABAC, and ReBAC where appropriate What We’re Looking For  5+ years of software or platform engineering experience shipping internal tooling, shared services, or developer productivity systems. Strong software engineering and system design ability, with architecture instincts that go beyond just coding the happy path. Track record of improving code quality, engineering standards, and maintainability across a team or product area. Experience with CI/CD, infrastructure as code, cloud services, and production rollout/rollback patterns. Comfortable being hands-on in design reviews, code reviews, remediation work, and hardening efforts. Strong initiative and good judgment in ambiguous environments; interest in AI and agentic systems is highly valuable. Strong English language skills are required for this role as we have a highly diverse and global business Bonus Points  Experience with data-intensive applications, distributed systems, messaging, caching, or middleware. Experience with AI agent runtimes, MCP-style connectors, sandboxing, isolation, or internal AI platform components. Experience with policy-as-code, workload identity, OPA / Gatekeeper / Kyverno, or similar platform control patterns. Familiarity with OWASP, threat modeling, secure SDLC, or adversarial considerations for AI systems. At Scopely, we create games for everyone - and want to ensure that the people behind our games reflect that!  &n
