Description
We are looking for a Senior Platform Engineer to join the team. You will help develop and evolve the infrastructure and developer platform that supports Artsy’s product teams. This includes challenges across Kubernetes, cloud infrastructure, CI/CD, and developer workflows. Our platform is continuously evolving, and this role will play a key part in shaping how we run and scale Kubernetes on AWS high-availability infrastructure, including Kubernetes for orchestration, Postgres and MongoDB databases, RabbitMQ, and Airflow. The platform is core to Artsy’s ability to ship reliably and efficiently, and this role will be responsible for defining the systems, practices, and tooling that enable teams to build, deploy, and operate services at scale. Improving scalability, operability, and developer workflows over time. Our platform relies on AWS for cloud infrastructure, with Kubernetes at its core. We use Docker for local development, Terraform for infrastructure as code, and CircleCI to power our CI/CD pipelines. We leverage Cloudflare for edge security and traffic management. We also use internal tooling to provide a consistent and streamlined interface for deploying and operating services on Kubernetes. For observability, we use Datadog for metrics and monitoring, Google Cloud logging for log aggregation, and Sentry for application-level error tracking and performance insights. This role is fully remote, and we're open to candidates located anywhere across the LATAM region.     WHAT YOU’LL DO AT ARTSY: - You’ll own and evolve our Kubernetes and cloud infrastructure platform, with a focus on scalability, reliability, and usability. - You’ll help shape how we run Kubernetes on AWS, improving cluster architecture, deployment patterns, and operational practices. - You’ll design and improve CI/CD pipelines and developer workflows to enable fast, safe, and repeatable deployments. - You’ll own a self-service infrastructure and design and improve it to allow teams to operate independently without creating bottlenecks. - You’ll work cross-functionally with product engineers to understand their needs and enable them through tooling, automation, and best practices. THIS ROLE IS A FIT FOR YOU IF: - You enjoy building and evolving platforms that enable other engineers to move faster and more safely. - You have experience working with Kubernetes in production environments (ideally EKS on AWS). - You have strong experience with CI/CD systems and believe in automation-first workflows. - You have worked in a platform or infrastructure role where you provided both tooling and guidance to product teams. - You are comfortable owning systems while collaborating closely with other teams and avoiding siloed ways of working. IT’S A PLUS IF YOU… - Have experience building internal developer platforms or self-service infrastructure - Have experience with observability tooling (e.g., Datadog, Papertrail, etc) - Have experience optimizing cloud infrastructure for cost and performance - Have experience with security best practices in cloud-native environments - Have experience with cloud migrations THIS ROLE IS UNLIKELY TO BE A GOOD MATCH IF YOU… - Prefer working in isolation rather than collaborating with product teams - Expect platform teams to operate as a ticket-driven service layer - Are not interested in improving developer experience or enabling others - Prefer manual processes over automation and CI/CD-driven workflows WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE IN YOUR FIRST 3–6 MONTHS: - Develop a strong understanding of Artsy’s platform, Kubernetes clusters, and CI/CD systems - Contribute to evolving how Kubernetes is operated and scaled within AWS - Identify and deliver improvements to developer workflows, deployment systems, and platform reliability - Partner with product teams to increase their autonomy and effectiveness We know no one is a perfect match on paper,
