If you want to grow and do meaningful work, you’ll feel at home here.  The Senior Electrical Engineer – PE Preferred leads constructable, complex electrical design projects from concept through completion. This role partners with clients, project managers, field teams, and other design disciplines to deliver high-quality solutions, manage project risks, and support successful project execution. The position also provides technical mentorship, conducts peer reviews, and helps drive standards, collaboration, and continuous improvement across teams. What you’ll do: Lead electrical design projects from concept through startup and commissioning Identify project risks early and develop practical solutions Build and maintain client relationships through strong communication and follow-through Coordinate with other design disciplines, field teams, vendors, utilities, and governing agencies Support estimates and project planning with project managers and estimators Troubleshoot technical issues with field personnel to keep projects moving Review drawings, approve deliverables, and support quality standards Mentor team members through delegation, feedback, and technical guidance Lead meetings, site trips, and project coordination efforts Help improve standards and strengthen accountability across teams What we’re looking for Project Engineer I B.S. degree from an ABET-accredited engineering program Eligible to complete the FE exam or already EIT certified 4–8 years of relevant experience PE license required or eligibility to become licensed Strong understanding of electrical terminology, components, symbols, and NEC Drafting software proficiency preferred Project Engineer II B.S. degree from an ABET-accredited engineering program 7+ years of relevant experience PE license required or eligibility to become licensed Strong understanding of electrical terminology, components, symbols, and NEC Drafting software proficiency preferred Demonstrated experience leading complex projects and multi-disciplinary teams What sets you apart Experience in panel shop, prefabrication, or field work Strong client-facing communication and presentation skills Ability to mentor others and raise technical capability across a team Proven ability to manage multiple complex projects at once Comfort working across disciplines and solving problems quickly Travel Requirements: Travel will be required and will vary according to business requirements. Travel should not exceed 30% of your time. Compensation: The pay range for this position is $79,000  to $116,000+ benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by the experience and education required, and level of responsibility. The range posted for this role represents a range that Interstates, in good faith, believes it is willing to pay at the time of this posting.
