Description
At Rhoda AI, we’re building the next generation of generalist intelligent robots. We own the full robotics stack from high-performance hardware and robot systems to the infrastructure and state-of-the-art foundation world models that control our robots. Our robots are designed to be generalists capable of operating in complex, real-world environments and handling long-tail edge cases, made possible by our cutting edge research and end-to-end system design. We've raised over $450M and are investing aggressively in model research, infrastructure, hardware development, and manufacturing scale-up to make generalist robotics a reality. You will own the electronics that sense and drive the hand: motor-control boards, current sensing, and the low-latency signal chain that makes teleoperation feel immediate. You will work in tightly constrained, hand-scale volumes. WHAT YOU'LL DO - Own schematic design and board layout for the hand system's electronics - Develop motor-control electronics, including drive stages and current sensing for torque and grasp-force estimation - Minimize latency through the sensing-to-actuation signal chain — teleoperation fidelity depends on it - Design sensing, harnessing, and interconnects within severely constrained hand-scale volumes - Support board bring-up, debug, and validation through rapid prototype iterations WHAT YOU BRING - Expert PCB layout skills, including dense boards in constrained, odd form factors - Hands-on experience with motor-control electronics, including drive stages and current sensing - Deep understanding of signal latency and its impact on closed-loop control and teleoperation - 5+ years of complex EE design and EE systems experience NICE TO HAVE - Experience with encoders and tactile or force sensing - EMI/EMC mitigation experience in compact motor-drive systems - Comfort collaborating with firmware engineers on board bring-up
