Axle is seeking a Scientist to join our vibrant team at the National Institutes of Health (NIH) supporting the National Cancer Institute (NCI) located in Bethesda, MD. The primary objective is to provide services and deliverables through performance of support services. Requires a Master's degree; a Ph.D. in Biology, Life Sciences, or a related discipline is required, along with a minimum of 2 years of experience in a laboratory environment.   Additional Qualifications   Certifications & Licenses Ph.D. in Biology, Life Sciences or related discipline   Field of Study Miscellaneous Biology   Software PowerPoint Microsoft Office Suite MS Word Excel   Skills Minimum of 2 years' experience in a laboratory environment Research experience in immunology and/or molecular biology Expertise in mouse handling procedures, including intraperitoneal/intravenous injections, tumor measurements, and dissections; immunologic studies including multi-parameter flow cytometric processing and data analysis, as well as in-vitro functional assays including cell culture, stimulation, proliferation, and cytokine production Expertise in molecular studies techniques including DNA/RNA extraction and quantification, gel electrophoresis, western blotting, PCR, and immunoprecipitation; helpful (though optional) experience in other techniques such as confocal microscopy Ability to learn new techniques and teach known techniques to others Knowledge of proper laboratory techniques, disposal methods, laboratory safety procedures, and universal precautions Ability to work independently on projects Excellent analytical, organizational, interpersonal, and time management skills Strong communication skills, both oral and written Proficiency in the use of computers and computer programs, including expertise in Microsoft Office Suite (MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel) Animal Handling: Mouse   Deliverables Work documents and products related to working with laboratory personnel in designing and performing experiments, data analysis and interpretation of results — Ad-Hoc Work documents and products related to initiating, designing, and developing new projects or assays that can enable the Center for Cancer Research/Rare Tumor Initiative, Dr. U.
