ABOUT THE ROLE: Hudu is looking for an eager Full-Stack Ruby on Rails Engineer to join our high-performing engineering team. In this role, you’ll write clean, thoroughly tested code across the entire stack, including building and maintaining RESTful APIs and using Hotwire to develop responsive, modern user interfaces. You will work closely with product, design, and engineering to ship features end-to-end, contribute to code reviews and architecture decisions, and play an active role in improving the performance and reliability of our platform as it grows.   The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following: - Write clean, maintainable code within the Rails framework, utilizing best practices. - Design and optimize RESTful APIs that power our suite of applications, ensuring they are reliable, performant, and consistent across the platform. - Integrate Hotwire components like Turbo Streams, Turbo Frames, and Stimulus to achieve smooth, near-instantaneous user interactions on the front-end. - Collaborate with UX design and product management teams to brainstorm new and existing requirements - Implement new features, new products, and help to improve existing features - Consult with managerial, engineering, and technical personnel to clarify program intent, identify problems, and suggest changes. - Keep your team up-to-date with your progress, issues, and status Our Tech Stack - Our core web app (Hudu) and Radar (our network discovery product) are built with the latest Ruby on Rails and Hotwire — Radar consists of a Rails front end and Rails backend that communicate with each other - The service that runs on customer networks to collect data for Radar is built in Dart - Our mobile app, which maintains feature parity with the core web app, is a separate product built with Flutter and Dart - We use RSPEC and practice Test Driven Development - Our APIs are based on REST and documented with Swagger - We use Github for our PR Review Process, and Github Actions for our DevOps Pipeline - We use Sentry for error reporting - We use Docker to deploy the application in development and production ABOUT YOU: - 4+ years of experience developing software with Ruby on Rails. - Strong understanding of Rails conventions within the following areas, ActiveRecord, routing, controllers, service objects, and background jobs. - In-depth experience building and maintaining RESTful APIs. - Proficient in Hotwire (Stimulus.js and Turbo) for developing dynamic, interactive user interfaces. - Bonus points: Experience with Dart and Flutter — this would let you contribute to the Dart-based service within Radar and our Flutter-based mobile app - Proficient in modern HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. - Proven experience translating UI/UX designs into responsive, user-friendly interfaces. - Proficient in Git for version control. - Ability to write clean, well-tested, and maintainable code. - Collaborative and communicative with a focus on teamwork and problem-solving. - Open to constructive feedback and actively participate in code reviews. - Excellent time managing skills with the ability to multi-task, prioritize, and meet deadlines effectively. - Eager to learn, grow, and ask questions when needed. - Excellent communication skills (including English, written and spoken) WHY WORK AT HUDU:
