Job Title: Real Estates Manager Type: Full Time, 12 month Secondment Location: EcoPark About LondonEnergy At LondonEnergy, we’re proud of our vital role in managing North London’s waste and protecting the environment. As part of the team, you’ll already know that we handle and process 750,000 tonnes of waste each year, making us the second largest waste contract in the UK. By processing household waste at our facility, we produce enough waste from energy to power 80,000 homes every year and recycle 70% of items through our Reuse and Recycling Centres. About the role The Real Estates Manager provides strategic and operational leadership for LondonEnergy’s Facilities and Estates function across all operational sites. The role is responsible for ensuring that facilities, infrastructure, grounds and associated services are safe, compliant, well maintained and capable of supporting current and future operational requirements. The postholder leads the development and delivery of the Facilities and Estates strategy, manages estate-related contracts and supplier performance, oversees compliance and governance activities, supports major organisational projects and provides leadership to the Facilities and Estates team. The role works closely with Operations, Asset Management, HSQE, Procurement, Finance, HR, contractors and other key stakeholders to ensure services are delivered effectively, sustainably and in line with business objectives. Responsibilities Strategic Leadership Develop and deliver the Facilities and Estates strategy in support of LondonEnergy’s corporate objectives. Provide advice and recommendations to senior management on estate, facilities and workplace matters. Support business planning, asset lifecycle planning and future operational readiness requirements. Identify opportunities to improve service delivery, efficiency, resilience and value for money. Support major organisational projects and transition activity, including new facility developments and operational readiness work. Facilities and Estate Management Be accountable for the safe, efficient and compliant operation of LondonEnergy’s estate and facilities portfolio. Ensure all facilities, grounds, buildings and associated infrastructure are maintained to an agreed standard. Develop and monitor preventative maintenance programmes through D365 and supporting systems. Ensure building fabric, landscaping, site infrastructure and welfare facilities are effectively maintained. Respond to emergency situations, incidents and urgent operational issues affecting facilities or estate operations. Support business continuity and emergency preparedness arrangements across Facilities and Estates. Contract Management and Supplier Governance Lead the management, procurement support and performance monitoring of Facilities and Estates service contracts. Ensure supplier performance is measured through agreed KPIs, service reviews and contractual obligations. Chair contractor performance meetings and ensure actions are tracked through to completion. Work with Procurement and Legal to ensure compliance with procurement requirements and contractual governance. Ensure appropriate contract documentation, service records, RAMS, training records and statutory documentation are maintained. Identify opportunities for service improvements and cost efficiencies while maintaining operational standards. Compliance, Risk and Governance Ensure Facilities and Estates activities comply with relevant legislation, standards and internal procedures. Oversee contractor compliance processes including inductions, permits, RAMS and competency verification. Maintain and regularly review the Facilities and Estates risk register. Support Management of Change (MOC) and Project Approval Workflow System (PAWS) processes where required. Ensure audits, inspections and assurance activities are completed and an
