Overview We're hiring Quality Inspectors for our aerospace and defense machine shop. Our parts fly on F-16s, orbit on the International Space Station, and spin in nuclear centrifuges. We run low-volume, short-run work in one of the only true aerospace precision shops in the Knoxville area, and every part gets inspected before it ships. You'll read engineering drawings with GD&T requirements, build inspection plans, and check CNC-machined and welded parts at receiving, in-process, and final inspection using calibrated hand tools. Compensation $30 - $40 / hr Hiring on 1st Shift Monday - Friday Responsibilities Blueprint reading: Interpret engineering drawings and GD&T callouts on every job. Inspection plans: Develop plans that verify parts meet drawing requirements. Receiving inspection: Check incoming parts and material against drawings and specs. In-process checks: Inspect parts mid-run to keep dimensions in tolerance. Final inspection: Verify finished parts, sub-assemblies, and equipment before shipment. Equipment testing: Test custom fabricated mechanical equipment against requirements. Documentation: Record and report all inspection and test results. Requirements Qualifications Required Close tolerance machining or inspection experience Experience in an ISO-certified manufacturing environment Ability to read drawings and specifications Working knowledge of GD&T Hands-on experience with calipers, micrometers, and scales High school diploma or GED Preferred Experience with CMM inspection methods Experience with laser inspection methods Experience with height, bore, and thread gauges Prior experience developing inspection plans Aerospace, defense, or energy industry experience #ZR
