QA Engineer
At Rectangle Health, we believe that our team members are our most important asset. We grow our team by hiring best-in-class talent. We encourage all employees to contribute their individual talents and ideas to strengthen our team, our brand, and our services. We promote a culture that serves to empower and motivate employees beyond the standard corporate rhetoric one might see on motivational posters. Employees understand their individual roles in serving our customers, and this clarity of purpose encourages high job performance.
Position Overview
If you are looking to align yourself with two of the largest growth industries: healthcare and technology, while joining one of the fastest-growing companies within those segments, Rectangle Health is the place for you!
We are seeking a highly skilled, detail-oriented, and self-directed QA Engineer with a strong background in automated UI and API testing. The ideal candidate will have 2–4 years of experience in quality assurance, with a proven track record of building and maintaining robust test automation frameworks. As a QA Engineer, you will be an essential part of our Engineering department, helping to maintain and improve the innovative solutions that thousands of healthcare providers rely on every day. Your work safeguards the quality and reliability of our products, giving the organization the confidence to deliver quickly without compromising the trust our customers place in us.
Beyond technical ability, we’re looking for someone who takes ownership, works proactively across teams, and follows through reliably once ramped up on their product area. Experience in the Payments domain and performance testing is a strong plus. You will receive the training, tools, and support to keep growing as a QA Engineer, including hands-on access to cloud environments and AI-assisted development tools.
Primary Job Duties:
Test Automation: Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts for UI and API testing across functional, regression, integration, and end-to-end coverage.
Test Planning & Strategy: Contribute to test planning, test reviews, and the continuous improvement of QA processes: helping decide what to test, not just how to implement it.
Cross-Team Collaboration: Collaborate with developers, product managers, and other QA engineers to understand requirements and ensure comprehensive test coverage.
Requirement Clarification: Proactively follow up with product and engineering to clarify requirements when ticket or acceptance details are incomplete.
Defect Reporting: Execute and analyze automated test results and report defects with detailed documentation.
CI/CD Integration: Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines.
Documentation Ownership: Anticipate documentation needs and initiate them: test coverage, processes, and automation workflows.
Agile Collaboration: Participate in sprint ceremonies and advocate for quality throughout the development lifecycle in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
Minimum Qualifications:
2–4 years of experience in QA engineering with a focus on automation.
Proficiency in automated UI testing frameworks, preferably Playwright with JS/TypeScript.
Strong hands-on experience with API automation.
Solid understanding of QA methodologies, tools, and processes.
Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git) and CI/CD tools (GitHub Actions).
Experience working in an Agile/Scrum development environment.
Experience working with AI coding assistants (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Claude) to accelerate test development and debugging.
