Description
🚛 About Qargo Qargo is a cloud-based (SaaS) Transport Management Platform. We are a scale-up based in London and Ghent (Belgium), rapidly expanding across Europe. The platform is an ‘all-in-one system’, handling everything from initial order entry to final invoicing. It optimises planning and has a built-in AI feature that automates lengthy manual tasks. Qargo is designed to help modern logistics operations run more efficiently, while increasing profitability and sustainability. We’re looking for a QA Engineer to join our team in Ghent. If you’re looking to work in an international company in a role that offers autonomy, ownership and impact, this is the role for you! 💼 About the Role As a QA Engineer at Qargo, you'll be the safety net between our engineering team and our customers. You'll take ownership of testing new features before they go live, exploring flows end-to-end, thinking up the difficult scenarios and edge cases that real-world logistics throws at our platform, and making sure we ship software our customers can rely on. Your primary focus, especially in the first months, will be manual testing of new features . You'll work closely with Product Owners and Engineers throughout the development cycle, reviewing specs, sharpening acceptance criteria, designing test cases, and validating that what gets built actually solves the problem. Beyond that, you'll have the opportunity to shape how QA works at Qargo as we grow , building out a structured testing framework and gradually introducing test automation where it adds the most value. This role offers a strong mix of hands-on testing, product thinking, and technical problem-solving, with plenty of room to leave your mark on how we build and ship software. 🔑 Key Responsibilities You'll help build out our QA framework , from improving our test documentation and processes to gradually introducing test automation where it adds the most value. You'll be focused on manual testing of new features and bug fixes before they go to production, working closely with Product Owners and Engineers throughout the development cycle. You'll design and document test cases , covering happy paths, edge cases, and the messy real-world scenarios our customers run into every day. You'll develop deep product knowledge of the Qargo TMS so you can think from a transport planner's perspective and prioritise testing based on real business impact. You'll identify, log, and track bugs clearly and reproducibly, and work with Engineering to verify fixes and protect release quality through regression and smoke testing. You'll champion quality across the team , sharing findings, raising risks early, and helping us build a culture where quality is everyone's responsibility. ✅ Skills & Experience You have at least 2 years of experience in a QA, software testing, or similar quality-focused role , with strong manual testing experience. A sharp analytical mindset , with an instinct for what could go wrong and a love for hunting edge cases and unexpected behaviour. Strong product thinking and a user-first mentality : you care about real-world impact and can translate business requirements into thorough test scenarios. Excellent communication skills , with the ability to write clear, reproducible bug reports and explain issues to engineers, product owners, and non-technical stakeholders. A technical background or strong technical curiosity , comfortable reading basic code, working with APIs, and using developer tools (browser dev tools, logs, simple SQL queries). Experience with or strong interest in test automation is a clear plus, for example with Cypress, Playwright, Selenium, or Postman . Bonus points if you've helped build out a test automation framework before. A growth mindset , eager to learn, experiment, and shape how QA works at Qargo as we grow. An interest in the logistics sector is a nice-to-have
