This part-time engagement is ideal for a senior project management professional with extensive experience delivering SaaS implementations, managing vendors, and guiding enterprise technology initiatives within government environments. The successful candidate will provide leadership throughout the project lifecycle while ensuring alignment with Virginia Information Technology Agency (VITA) standards and organizational objectives. Job Description The Project Manager will oversee the planning, design, configuration, staff training, testing, implementation, and successful deployment of the Virginia Board of Accountancy's replacement licensing and management system. This position serves as the primary point of contact throughout the implementation while coordinating internal stakeholders, external vendors, and VITA processes to ensure successful project execution. The role is responsible for managing project schedules, budgets, requirements gathering, process mapping, user acceptance testing, deployment readiness, change management, vendor performance, executive reporting, and project closeout while ensuring the implementation remains aligned with project goals, timelines, and Commonwealth of Virginia standards. Responsibilities Project Leadership Lead the end-to-end implementation of the replacement licensing and management system. Direct project planning, execution, monitoring, and project closeout activities. Maintain project schedules, milestones, budgets, and executive status reporting. Ensure projects are delivered on schedule and within established objectives. Requirements & Business Analysis Facilitate process mapping and business requirements gathering sessions. Guide business and technical stakeholders through functional and technical requirements definition. Coordinate documentation and validation of project deliverables. Implementation & Testing Oversee system implementation activities through all project phases. Coordinate and monitor user acceptance testing activities. Certify solution readiness prior to deployment. Ensure successful implementation according to approved project plans. Vendor & Stakeholder Management Serve as the primary day-to-day contact for the implementation project. Manage vendor relationships and oversee vendor performance. Coordinate internal teams, technology partners, executive leadership, and board stakeholders. Drive effective communication across all project participants.
