💙 ABOUT BOUNCE...
Bounce is building cloud storage for the physical world, starting with the largest global luggage storage network in existence. Bounce’s marketplace connects travelers with 30,000+ small business locations worldwide for hyper-local short term baggage storage. With more locations globally than Burger King, and more locations in New York City than Starbucks, Bounce has served 3M+ users and stored 10M+ bags, and paid over $10M to small business partners.
To achieve this, Bounce is a fast-paced and scrappy team. We believe that experimentation fuels innovation, so we move quickly, testing new ideas and adapting in real time. If you’re ready to make an impact in a high-energy, close-knit, and collaborative environment - Bounce is the place where you can move fast, think big, and shape the future of travel. Join us as we make the world a lighter, more accessible place! Bounce has been named the Inc5000’s fastest-growing travel company in the USA in 2024 and is proudly backed by leading Silicon Valley investors, including Andreessen Horowitz, General Catalyst, and Sapphire. WHAT IS THIS ROLE...
Bounce is seeking a Product Engineer to join our Lisbon office. This role will play a pivotal part in crafting new products atop our platform and expanding the efficacy of the Bounce marketplace.
You will work on marketplace health, owning the end-to-end flow across our customer and partner experiences — and supporting operational teams by improving supply quality, helping the Customer Support team, and strengthening the reliability of the core Bounce experience.
As a Product Engineer, you will take ownership of real-world customer problems, crafting intelligent and efficient solutions across both backend and frontend. You will have the opportunity to own projects in various areas, such as our consumer apps, growth engines, and partner tools.
We are looking for a generalist who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys owning a feature from concept to completion, contributing across the entire technology stack.
Our ultimate goal is to build a large-scale, shared technology platform that supports various products capable of rapid iteration and exploration.
HOW PRODUCT GETS BUILT AT BOUNCE
At Bounce, we focus on serving our customers and partners rather than solely on technological innovation.
We work in fast-paced 1-week cycles. Projects are usually scoped down to fit into one or two cycles. Projects are led by individuals, but are a shared effort across the entire team. There will always be aspects of any project that will require collaboration, feedback, and guidance—we expect you to ask for help.
An ideal candidate is excited by all aspects of this software-building process, not just writing code. We’re a small team that thrives off of individuals who can take features from an idea to live on production. This is not a role where issues will be assigned to you and you churn through them.
WHERE YOU COME IN..
- Own initiatives that improve marketplace health across the end-to-end customer and partner journey (search → booking → post-booking → repeat).
- Partner closely with operational teams (Supply, Partner Success, Customer Support) to improve supply quality, reduce operational load, and strengthen day-to-day execution.
- Keep the lights on for the core business: handle day-to-day maintenance, address operational issues quickly, and continuously improve reliability and resiliency.
- Write high-quality code for our mobile and web applications.
- Assume strong ownership of products and services, and continuously improve and maintain existing code and architecture.
- Work in a fast-paced environ
