Protegrity is seeking a passionate and talented Principal Solution Engineer to join our global Solution Engineering team in Australia.
Role Overview
This job is for you if, as a Principal Solution Engineer, you thrive at the intersection of technology and business value, working closely with enterprise customers and internal teams to define, design, and deliver tailored data protection solutions.
Your day will involve engaging with customer stakeholders from C-level executives to technical teams to uncover critical requirements, demonstrate Protegrity’s value, and lead proof of concept initiatives.
You’ll architect secure, scalable solutions that align with customer goals while serving as their trusted technical advisor throughout the sales lifecycle. In this role, you’ll collaborate with Account Executives, Product Management, and Professional Services, contribute to technical strategy, and mentor peers all while navigating a dynamic, fast paced environment that values innovation, autonomy, and continuous improvement.
Your success will be shaped by your ability to listen deeply, communicate clearly, and apply a structured, consultative approach to solving complex data protection challenges.
What you’ll do
- Conduct in-depth discovery, data-flow mapping, and documentation of customer environments, both on-site and remotely.
- Deliver compelling technical presentations and product demonstrations to stakeholders including C-level executives, developers, DBAs, IT security, and other technical or business audiences.
- Lead and manage Proof-of-Concepts, contribute to RFI/RFP responses, and validate customer requirements through hands-on technical engagement.
- Architect, install, and configure Protegrity software solutions tailored to customer needs and deployment environments.
- Create detailed solution design and project planning documents using standardized formats.
- Collaborate with sales teams, partners, and professional services to align technical activities with customer outcomes.
- Mentor other Solution Engineers and Services personnel while continuing to build your own expertise through certifications, hands-on labs, and current knowledge of data privacy and cybersecurity trends.
- Regularly use cloud labs across AWS, Azure, and GCP to validate capabilities, support customer scenarios, and maintain accurate records in CRM and other presales applications.
What you’ll need
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience, such as 4+ years in a similar technical role.
- 8+ years of experience in solution engineering, consulting, presales, or technical advisory roles across data, security, privacy, AI, or adjacent enterprise software domains.
- Demonstrated success leading technical engagements in complex enterprise environments, from discovery and architecture through technical validation and executive alignment.
